@Euphemism2009 I have been weight training for a long time (well over 10 years).
I know my lifts arent that impressive but please remember bjj is counter productive to weight lifting. Fatigues muscles and mind.
I can chin up with 90lbs chained on for reps and do the same with deep dips. Maybe I am just not too gifted at lifting, but at 41 years old and my klifting history I think AAS are needed.
Sorry @Euphemism2009, I just checked your lifts and experience. I dont think you should be giving any advice. I dont mean to be rude or offensive at all, but come on man.
Your lifts are fine. They are only not impressive because you are 230lbs. They are still novice level lifts, certainly not beginner. I see that as a non issue. PED use is highly personal and you are certainly old enough and experienced enough to make the decision for yourself. Iām not saying I like the plan, just commenting that your lifts are fine.
What you are looking to do is cut, not recomp. You should do just fine with your TRT dose. You also should not cut and then try to put on size in the same cycle, You need to cut and then give your body some time at maintenance calories to fine balance again. Once at maint. for a month or so you can start to add more food in. If you just flip the switch from cut to bulk you will prob rebound right back to where you started. What is your height?
I think bulk and cut works very effectively. I liken recomping to driving on a forked road⦠the fork is coming up, and you can only go so far before you have to turn (to cutting or bulking).
Iād rather go full effort cut, then full effort bulk - instead of trying to thread the slow, unproductive needle that is ārecompā.
FYI, @Euphemism2009 is correct that you donāt need AAS to cut, or to reach your stated goals - regardless of his experience.
Iām in the same camp as the others. Iāve never had success in ārecompā even assisted. You either bulk or you cut. For cutting, optimized TRT is far enough.
