I know everyone here has some good Tuna recipes. I usually would eat my tuna along with pasta, but lately i haven’t been eating pasta because of summer. Anyways, any recipes you have for tuna should be posted here. Whether it’s just a salad, or some sort of fancy dish. Post it
This is a tasty blender recipe I concocted for Tuna.
1 can tuna, 3 tbl. of peanut butter, 1 cup saurkraut, 1/2 can beets, 3/4 cup orange juice.
Blend for about 20 sec. then pour over bowtie pasta. You won’t even smell or taste the tuna.
One can of Tuna, one egg, dash of cummin (or any other spice you like), handful of crackers or corn flakes. Mix it up in a bowl, make it into a patty, put it on a skillet, 2 minutes low/medium heat, turn over and put it on for 1 minute more. Great recipe to make a lot at a time. You can take it on the go or you can put it in the freezer for another time. No fishy taste at all and very good protein source.
I posted this a while back, but here it is again: In a small amount of olive oil fry up 1 onion, some mushrooms, green pepper (or whatever veggies you have in the fridge), cook for about 5 min, add drained tuna, spices - garlic, oregano, basil, s&p. Cook this for another couple minutes, then add desired amount of tomato sauce; you can add a small amount for color or lots to make it pretty saucy. Cook this for another couple minutes. Depending on your goals, some cheese added afterwards is pretty good. This works nicely as a pasta sauce as well.
BTW, apeshit - not to flame, and to each his own and all that, but your recipie sounds fuckin' gross, dude.
My tuna recipies are quick and easy since I’m always on the go, and I always use Massive Eating principals with my meals. Try: 1 can tuna, 1 tbsp Udo’s Choice Oil, 1/2 tbsp low fat mayo, add Tobasco sauce to one’s content. One may also add up to two tbsp of salsa to the mix. If you skip the Udo’s choice and go easy on the mayo for a low fat snack, you could also add some celery, peppers, onions, chili powder and/or pickles. Also using the low fat recipe, a tuna melt using 2% cheese and some whole grain bread: toast the bread, nuke the tuna with cheese over it, place tuna and cheese on toasted bread.
The one thing that works every time at neutralizing tuna flavor is: Soy sauce.
Just steam up some rice and veggies, place tuna on top, and splash with soy sauce.
Tastes much, much better than relish (Ewwwww!)
BTW, I rinse tuna with cold running water every time I open a can. I place it in a small colander. It gets rid of about 1/2 the flavor right off the bat. Hope this helps
One can tuna, some bread crumbs, whatever spices you like, tobasco mix in an oven proof bowl then put some cheese on the top and heat at 350 until the cheese melts and gets a little brown. take out and stir. i then add a tbsp of garlic flax oil. tastes great and the cheese and spices mask the fish taste.
Two cans tuna, drained. Add to one cup kashi, and one shredded carrot. mix well, refrigerate, it’s a great meal. Add ground flax seeds to taste.
i keep it simple…can of tuna drained w/a tablespoon of sweet relish.
i actually just ate some tuna…and natural peanut butter. what a yummy combo. hehe.
First get yourself some Hershey’s syrup. Then have her spread her legs, and… Oh woops, sorry, wrong “smelly friend”! Anyway, here’s my roommate’s recipe, works with chicken or tuna: 1-2 tbsp mayo, 1/2 - 1 apple peeled and chopped, handful of pecans chopped, celery chopped, onion chopped, salt, pepper. Tastes good, I really like the addition of apples and nuts. Tuna with relish and mayo mixed in is good, too.
I like it with red wine vinegar and olive oil. No I’m not kidding. I like that on canned salmon too.
I saw an strange recipe for tuna in a past flex magazine and decided to try it. I was a can of tuna and some diet coke or lemonade mixed in a blender. I tried it with the diet coke and faired pretty well until the last bit which was mostly tuna juice. Needless to say I gagged my ass off for about five minutes. Haven’t got around to trying it again though.
Good God how can you all eat that shit!!??
J-Man: I wretched just reading your post.
Actually, I wish I was able to eat tuna.
Like they say: Once you get past the smell you got it licked…
I can’t get past the smell…of tuna.
Salmon however, being the younger, fresher sister of tuna isn’t so bad.
Horseradish and hot jalapeno sauce helps as well.
J-man, that’s some nasty shit…credit for being crazy enough to try it. As for me I usually mix up the tuna chanko style with rice and canned sweet corn.
You guys want a tasty treat that has benefits beyond nutrition? Mix one can of tuna (drained) with two tablespoons horseradish-flavored deli mustard (the kind with whole seeds). Spoon it down ASAP before a workout, and I GUARANTEE you’ll get the squat rack to yourself.
People think Im crazy for this. But try a Tuna and Cottage cheese combo. Use some of the above suggestions for taste but go ahead and add the cottage cheese and see if you like it.
Canned pineapple in juice. Sprinkle juice over tuna and take a pineapple chunk with every mouthfull of tuna.
(1) Add curry powder to mayonaisse and tuna. Even better with some chopped apple or pear and a few raisins or nuts. (2)A friend from seattle send me some great “spice mix” and I just added tuna, a little olive oil and mix in the spice mix. Tastes great. The spicemix is the “salmon rub” made by a chef in Seattle named Tom Douglas (web site is his name without the space)
Put some tuna on some slices of bread, top with some cheese, and broil in the oven until you cant wait any more.
