Yeah, I am hoping to post some new PRs after my contest next weekend.
My DL is still the 235 and squat 175. I don’t bench much, but have been focusing more on OH pressing. I got 1 rep at 120lbs on the viking press, but am push pressing around 100lbs for a couple of reps (not sure an exact 1RM).
Celeste, I usually enjoy your posts, but I’m just not following you here at all??
I never commented on Bratt. We’re all just asking you to stay on topic. There’s another thread in this forum that Bratt started where you can more freely discuss the other stuff.
I owe all of you women an apology. Unfortunately I was at a neighbor’s having a BBQ and we did a couple of shots of Tequila. I very rarely drink and when I did it knocked me for a loop.
I walked back here after the Tequila and was terrible and nasty and way out of line.

So a guess a shot is your 1rm for tequila I can’t even get one of those puppies down my neck any more. Memories from university.
I don’t drink much either and if I have one or two I get all mooney and dopey. Hope you don’t have a hangover this morning.

I have the headache and sick stomach
deservedly so, wonderful reminder of why not to do it
I can be bitchy on here but I was just nasty.
I cannot express enough my apologies but they are sincere

Jillybop, good luck with the contest next week. Though we KNOW you will have new PR’s we’re looking forward to hearing about it regardless.
I find I am VERY week with OH pressing. Can only do 55 lbs for sets of 10. I’m impressed by your numbers!

bratt - i was too. i worked on strengthening the shoulders - particularly the rear delts - will stabilize the shoulder girdle- then pushing up heavier weights much easier. i can finally o/h press with 70 for 10 reps/3 sets - was stuck at 60 for the longest freakin’ time…

Coming up soon! You’ve been training hard (saw your vids on another thread) and you look strong and ready to go. Best of luck!
(I think the objects in the odd object load aren’t odd enough)
What are the objects?
What would constitute odd enough? Like a small sheep or something? Of course you’d have to catch it first.
I’m jealous we don’t have odd objects in ours.[/quote]

I did my first PL competition in December. I’m 5’5" and am around 170 (but plan to drop a few lbs so I don’t have to worry about making weight at 165).
My gym PRs are
Squat 275
Bench 165
Deadlift 275
My meet PRs are
Squat 237 (I always miss the 3rd attempt )
Bench 160
Deadlift 264
I want to get a 300 lb deadlift, get my squats consistently deeper, get bodyweight up on the bench regularly, and start working with a bench shirt, suit, wraps, etc. in the next year.
I’ve only lifted raw (belt only) so far.
And poor OG, I read your posts and thought, “Whoa! Who is this girl and what did she do with OG!” Bad tequila!
A little about me:
I am NOT a powerlifter, but I LOVE lifting heavy and I LOVE proving that lifting heavy weights only makes you stronger, sexier and more confident and feminine! I HAVE done a PL meet, but it was almost 3 years ago and it was very spur of the moment. It was a push/pull meet only and I was convinced to do the meet about 3 weeks before it occurred. I decided to only DL since my bench was (and still is) NO BUENO =D (I DL 285 at that meet, belt only)
I am currently getting ready for a figure competition… but I plan on lifting HEAVY as long as my caloric deficit allows. I can typically maintain or even gain strength up to 4-6 weeks before a competition.
My best gym lifts to date are:
Bench: 135 x 2
Squat: 245 (off a box, belt only) 225x3 with the safety bar (no box, belt only)
Deadlift: 315 (belt only)
I am hoping by the end of 2008, I will be able to bench my BW (160-ish), squat 275 (belt only) and DL 365 Belt only
Oh yeah, and I want to be able to do 3 sets of 10 pullups damnit! I can do 1 when I am fresh, but then my 2nd set will fall to 6, and my thrid will only be 5… Grr… makes me MAD!
Well, I’ve never been much for setting goals…that implies sort of trying to accomplish something, yes? Ewwww. Oh well, after about 7 mos. of training, my 40-something/5’3"/100ish lb. micropowered bod went from a starting DL of about 70 lbs. to a fairly recent PR of 215 lbs. For BP, I started a month or so later, and debuted at all of about 45 lbs [blush]; my PR is 83 lbs. now (81 lbs. with a competition pause).
I began the squat at about 45 lbs., but my knees started to scream bloody murder, so I dropped it; I’ve been doing some exercises, and am going to go back at the squat slowly, and with knee wraps. I just want to be able to add that lift to an aggregate total in competition…we’ll see!?
For me, the BP has been a slow road (but character-building!), while the DL hardly seems like work-thus my fave, for sure (just pick it up!).
As for goals, um, to stay in one piece, that’s number one…it’d also be nice to get much closer to my bodyweight in BP, and to actually do a squat with more than an empty bar!!
Oh, and I’d like to retain my title as Esteemed Most Excellent Countessa of the Universe, and further my career as a Brain Surgeon/Professional Sky Diver/Cab Driver.
p.s. finallement, to NEVER be in the ‘inner circle’ of ANYthing…i.e. member of cabinet in gov’t, initiate of Skull & Bones thingy at Yale(?), a T-Cell member etc. :), on the old “wouldn’t want to join any club that would accept ME!!” principle.
