Tim, I’m getting your pm’s but mine aren’t going through to you. Go to your page and check to see if your pm’s are turned off.
Checked out out BA the other night. Never used bumpers before, so that was cool. The gym is pretty small, the db’s only go to 100 and there isn’t a lot of equipment, but there are some perks. They have a straight away that’s probably 60-80 yards, two ghr’s. Two power racks, three adjustable benches, 4 olympic platforms in the back [where there was a jiu-jitsu class going on across from me], two squat stands in the olympic area and one power lifting bench. I’m seriously considering switching over if possible.
Just an update, back in Houston for the Holidays. Hank’s Gym pricing is around $68 for a month and $150 for three. I took a picture of the one platform there with bumpers. Mario Lopez was training when I was there, just as an interesting side note.
Also, to anyone who knows about Hyde Park gym in Austin, Hank and the owner of Hyde Park were good friends and built their gyms along similar lines I was told today.
BA is worth joining if you are looking for a gym with a platform. Most people go for bjj or the batting cages so the free weights area is usually empty. Theres chalk and a reverse hyper as well.
