Raw oatmeal

B-Boy Mike, glad you like the oats, baby. I look forward to that daily. I hear ya about the simplicity…my mom’s always asking if she should buy some nice tuna steaks or salmon steaks, and I just say that I eat so often and so much that there’s really no point in getting extravagant. Don’t get me wrong, I love to eat and I love it to taste great, but the price has got to be right! Mike, you should try mixing some grow in with your cottage cheese. Good stuff, baby.

Heh Timbo,i cooked my oats instead of blending them and it made me much more sated. You made a convert out of me.

Mic Check (that’s you Mike K), glad to hear you like the cooked up oats. Did you add a little fever to the flavor as I mentioned earlier? I don’t know how well I could handle plain oatmeal without the spray butter, splenda and cinnamon. Another little quirk of mine: for breakfast a lot of times I’ll have egg whites and oatmeal and what I’ll do is have hard-boiled whites (toss the yolks) and put stuff the whites with the oats (all flavored up, of course). This is one damn fine start to my day! Hard-boiled egg whites on their own aren’t really anything to go bananas over. Anybody else out there like Brussel Sprouts? Another condiment I find that goes well with just about everything under the sun is some nice hot and chunky salsa. Man, this is some fun sh*t!

Timbo, what kinda cottage cheese do you eat? I’ve been eating 1% forever, but my store only had 4% this weekend. It says its california style. The 4% breakstones rocks! much creamier and sweeter. Also, you know if they make a whole milk cottage cheese? I doubt you can get one carb free, cause thats lactose.

Yeah Timbo i’ve added cinnamon(haven’t yet tried other flavour enhancers) to my oats ever since i read it potentiates insulin function.I don’t go a day without salsa, especially on tuna and salmon as it prevents that fish flavour from coming back on ya.

B-Boy Mike, I usually go with Fat-Free CC. Before I get into that, I have to tell you–and you guys’ll probably want to whoop my ass–for the last month or so, one of the grocery stores by me has been selling their brand of cottage cheese for either buy 1, get 1 free or .99 cents a pop! I’m talking the 24 oz, baby! I like the fat-free, because it floats better with the Massive Eating plan. I checked out the higher fat kinds, hoping that the carbs would be lower, but they all seem to have 5g per 1/2 cup. Actually I found this one kind that had more carbs than protein! What a joke. Another good little trick is to take a serving of sugar-free Jell-0 and mix it in with some cottage cheese. Good deal. I’ve never seen whole milk, and I’m still searching for a big-ass bucket!

Mic Check...I didn't know about that property of cinnamon, care to expand? I am a big tuna fan, and actually I just ate a couple frozen pollock filets from the store and they were the bomb! This is some pretty cool conversing we got going down.

I could only find rat studies but the cinnamon compound(s) improved insulin function as shown by glucose oxidation in isolated fat cells.I haven’t seen any improvement in my physique from it’s use but anything that helps.
