Chris, I believe you said you adhere to JB’s Massive Eating Principles, but, I was wondering if you could give us a sampling of a day of eating on a workout day for yourself? I think other’s would be interested in this as well. Thanks.
I stick pretty close to the Massive Eating guidelines, but mainly I just try to not mix too many fats and carbs together in the same meal. I think of that as a general guideline. My diet consists of mostly what I write about in my articles. My “Foods that make you look good nekid” article covers about 95% of what I eat (and don’t eat) daily. I also use a modified version of the T-Dawg diet, basically keeping carbs under control and protein high.
Although it changes every few weeks when I get bored, here’s an average daily menu for me:
Wake up and drink Low Carb Grow! with cottage cheese mixed in.
A couple of hours later, I eat a solid meal, usually P+C, oatmeal with a scoop of protein mixed in.
Around noon I eat a tuna or chicken meal with some fibrous veggies.
2-3PM I have a P+F meal, maybe some red meat or maybe just another protein shake with natural PB and nuts blended in. Recently I’ve been having a lot of omelets at this time with mostly egg whites plus a whole egg or two. I don’t like to eat solid food when I first wake up so I usually eat breakfast foods in the afternoon.
I train around 5PM and drink Surge during and after. About an hour after the last Surge I have another P+C meal, usually some type of lean protein source and some good carbs, maybe a sweet potato. This meal varies a lot.
Before bed, I have another low carb Grow! with cottage cheese blended in.
That’s an average day. Boring, yes, but quick and effective for my goals. If I’m dieting down, I just keep the carbs at about 100 and eat more P+F meals, keeping the Surge in for workouts. I may have a protein bar during the day too as a snack. I also go have a big steak about once a week at a restaurant. Doing that tonight actually. That’s about it really. Hope that helps.
chris, I don’t see any milk in your diet but you list it as “okay” in the article. Are you against milk?
Chris,
No salad, fruit or fiber. Do you crap once a week?
Davo- No, I’m not against milk, but I think most people should limit milk intake and avoid full-fat milk altogether. The only exception to this would be the ectomorphic bony teenager as I wrote in the article.
Still, I see whole milk as mostly unhealthy since it mixes a lot of saturated fats with quite a few milk sugar carbs. So although the bony hyperactive teen needs all the calories he can get, I don’t think he should get them from unhealthy sources.
Personally, I don’t do well on milk. It just seems that I can gain fat very quickly using milk, even skim, but I’ve always had to be careful with carb intake. Now, if I’m on a high volume, high frequency training program and I’m using an androgen like MAG-10, then I’ll buy a small container of Lactaid skim milk and have a glass or two a day or use it for my Bran Buds cereal (something else I avoid most of the time except when bulking up is cereal, even the healthy kind.)
Still, even going for unadulterated mass, I have to limit my milk intake. That said, I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who can do fine on milk so no “Oh yeah, punk, well I drink it I’m like way hyoooger than you and 2% bodyfat!!!” letters please.
BTW, I’m not lactose intolerant, but I find that Lactaid skim milk is just thicker and taste much better than regular skim. Give it a shot. Mixed with Low Carb Grow! and ice and you have damned near a Dairy Queen milkshake.
On other note, be suspicious of all the vicious anti-milk info you may hear. One group of doctors who were on TV recently and who wanted to ban milk turned out to all be radical vegetarians with an extremist animal rights agenda. The “facts” they used to condemn milk were total horse shit. (Or is that cow shit?)
FitnForty: 2-3 times a day if you must know.
Perhaps you missed the part in there about oatmeal and fibrous veggies.
And if really dieting hard and reducing carbs I usually drop in a fiber drink once a day. Fiber-Psyll is probably the best stuff out there.
Can we please stop talking about my bowel movements now? I’m getting creeped out.
“Creeped out?” Don’t you mean crapped out? Anyway, FiberPsyll is pretty good, but the generic brand Colon Cleanse they sell at GNC works a lot better for 1/2 the price of both FiberPsyll and the GNC brand. Enough of this already, though.
Good one, Eric!
Yes, I’ve used the generic GNC fiber before too. Good shit. (Sorry, couldn’t resist. Crappy pun, I know.)
Holy Thomas Crapper (sorry, couldn’t resist)! What about MRPs’? I’ve been considering them - since I can get bored from eating. Y’know those times when you’re hungry, but NOTHING looks good, but you know you have to eat - and so that’s where I thought MRPs’ might work. And yes, I do eat (for all you folks who think that since I’m a woman I eat like a “rabbit”, bwahaha, that’s a funny thought)- but I also hate, hate, dairy. Hate cheese, don’t drink milk ( I use “watered down” skim milk sparingly on cereal and oatmeal). Oh and here’s something that I do like: oatmeal with an egg. I throw in a bowl, oatmeal, some brown sugar, cinnamon and one egg. I mix it all up really good with a fork, add some water and microwave until it’s all fluffy like a soufle. Kinda tasty.
Yeah, that’s some funny shit! I swear-that’s it! TO ARCHIVES WITH THIS ONE!
