Oh and NB, this was my condition a couple of weeks before my last casting. Didnt get it though lol.
Forgot to ask btw but what was the casting exactly for?
That was a casting for some supplementary work in MH. Looking for the same things as the cover model comp though I guess!

Woke up feeling hungover from the cheat meal(s), horrendous,

Feeling rageful over my size and channeled into doing a fasted shoulder session, will do chest in the PM, gonna start doing some lifting in the morning instead of the steady state, just to get those weakpoints (as there are loads) nailed.

Up to 162.5lbs from yesterday, feeling good and full now that the junk hangover has worn off

30 min shoulder session consisted of:

Lateral Raises (slight swing and bounce) - 10ks - 12 reps x 3 sets

Kettlebell Raises - 16k kettlebell - 12 reps x 3 sets

Military Press - 30k x 10 reps, 40 k x 8 reps, 50k x 6 reps

Super Wide Grip Presses - 20k x 10, 22.5k x 10, 30k x 10, 30k x 10

Band pushdowns, medium light band 5 x 15-20 reps (gonna do triceps again with chest, just pushdowns as I recover well from them for the xtra volume)

morning shot 2

Nah, although I’m not gonna do the AM lifting sessions continually completely fasted.

Gonna take scoop of whey and whatever luecine I have left during that session like I have in the later ones and then move onto Meal 1 at about 10am.

See how I handle the extra 25g of protein and adjust this coming Sunday if need be.

“Oh you are WAAAY too small to enter the comp”

“Whats the point? You are way too soft and will never be a lean as those guys”

Fuck them nae saying assholes poisoning my mind, tired of being put down, going to will my way into that top 15.

Chest Afternoon Workout was:

Flat BBell bench - 60 x 10 reps x 3 sets SuperSetted with plate presses 12 rep x 3 sets

Flies - 10k x 15 reps x 3 sets

Incline Dumbbell bench - 15k x 12 reps x 3 sets SuperSetted with Ring Dips to failure x 3 sets

Hanging Knee Raises 20 reps/ Stretch Push Ups to Failure/ Band Face Pulls 30 reps x 2 sets

Hey, maybe I can offer my two cents on this. Ive done a few castings with MH (not for the cover model comp in particular), but I have a reasonably good idea of what they look for, at least aesthetically. The number one thing to remember when casting for MH is that they arent looking for bodybuilders- coming in peeled to your bones isnt necessarily a good thing. Sure, the guys who cast for the cover are shredded, but not necessarily competition-ready shredded. The physiques they like have to be appealing to the general public and deemed “achievable”. Its always a good idea to remember youre being casted as a “model”, hence facial appearance (smile, skin, hair, facial hair) are extremely important.

From what Ive heard, having an interesting “story” is also important. They need something to write about and for you to appeal with I guess. Hope Ive been of some help!
Best advice.

Screw the naysayers.

Favourite Day of the Week…BACK DAY

Woke up at 9, got ready took HOT-ROX and trained from half 9 to 10 am, drank whey during the workout

Light Band Pushdowns - 20 reps x 5 sets
SUPERSET
Side Bends - 20k kettlebell - 20 reps x 5 sets

One Armed Dumbbell Decline Bench (Right Side Only) - 16k x 15 reps x 4 sets
SUPERSET
Hanging Knee Raises - 20 reps x 4 sets

Trained some people till 12 and go my first meal in at 1pm

PM Session was:

Dumbbell Rows - 16k x 10 reps
24k x 10 reps
30k x 10 reps x 3 sets

Chins - 8 reps x 3 sets

Meadows Rows - 10k plus bar x 15 reps x 3 sets

Kettlebell Chest Support Row - 7.5k’s x 20 reps x 3 sets
SUPER SET
PVC pipe resistance band rows- 2 light bands x 15 reps x 3 sets

and then some band face pulls

Late to this, but looking good man.

Definitely a good physique, agree that a lot of winning this type of comp will involve how you present/carry yourself.

those back shots look good man, really balanced

I fully expect you to put me to shame come your contest time btw, you’ve got a good coach so no excuses

Thanks, the only part I loathe about my back is the non existent lower left side caused by being asymmetric, but it (and my overall balance in regards to being crooked as fuck) has gotten way better over the years with lifting

I hear you man, posture deficits eh? A childhood spent playing computer games fucked me over

tbh, I can’t see any noticeable asymmetry at all. Nobody notices shit like that except you. I think my lats on my left side are like half the size of my right but nobody else can see it

Ah, it was tennis from an early age that fucked my spine. Also gave me an enormous imbalance with my racquet arm and delt compared to the other.

The lighting has helped hide it in all honesty, but look closely at how far my left thumb goes into my side, like there is nothing there.

But thanks for the kind words as always

Today is a rest day so did some fasted cardio, nothing mental just 30 mins steady state.

dude how much did the HOT-ROX cost to get shipped over?

Also, whereabouts in Scotland are you?

Shipping was 70 dollars, overall seemed ok UNTIL a week after I got my shipment I was hit by tax which was £31.

Luckily I bought an extra bottle to sell on

I am in the bonnie wee town of Ayr, you are in Glasgow aren’t you?

aye you see that’s what puts me off ordering from here. There’s a few products I’d really like to try (superfood, Z-12 and Flameout) but you just get hosed so badly on shipping and tax.

That’s no disrespect to Biotest by the way, it’s not like they can do anything about it.

Yeah I’m in Glasgow now but I’m a teuchter born and bred. That’s REAL Scotland. Not like you central belters. Half English you lot.

If you can wait until August I have a friend coming over from LA who is gonna take stuff over for me and I could post it to you?

lulz, my family hails from Thurso and my surname is Mclachlan…pure scotch beef, so much so I considered sendin the mens health pics wearing my kilt/tartan and going to the finals day likewise
