Fyi, I was pretty pale before I started tanning this year (first time ever) I went every other day for about a week before I took 3 or 4 days in between sessions. I went 5,8,11, and then 15 minutes from then on…

Yeah. I had to start out on level one as im pretty darn white naturally. It took me a solid month to build a good tan and i was going probably 4 times a week. Had to start slow.

Have faith though pasty people, i now do level 4 booths for the max time and dont get burned at all. Plus now i only tan twice a week tops, and thats to maintain what most would consider a pretty dark one.

Im not quite as pale as your are RH, but if you manage to get any tan at all within the first couple weeks, you’ll likely be able to get pretty damn dark eventually (if you want to)

What are people’s thoughts on the lie downs?

Currently i’m only doing the stand ups cause they are more powerful yet I hear its good to throw in some lie downs to fill in some gaps, such as the serratus and inside of the arms…

I originally started this tanning malarky in Feb, did it for a few weeks, got somewhat more tanned as I had tan lines between my ass and thighs but had to stop because I wouldnt be able to afford more minutes and so saved them for this point closer to the comp

You’re going to get more lines from the lie down. Thats why i only use standup.

Most standups should have something on the top you can hold to keep your arms up for a time and get under the arms. Im 6’3 and i can manage in most of these booths, so im sure you can.

The more powerful tanners (which are usually standup) are better too because the max times are much shorter. Its a lot more convenient for me to be able to stand in a level 4 for 9 minutes than lie in a level 2 for 20.

Wee quick update; Half a Year of Dieting

Weight is sitting around 163 - 165lbs, some workouts have been a real struggle but still getting them done.

Still doing 5/3/1, abs and cardio in the AM and accessories in the PM

Had a refeed today, trained shoulders and did arms/chest also, fired on some oil and took some snaps to ensure I had some back up mandatory pictures for the comp incase it somehow closes before my next refeed.

Comp is opening this week as far as I know, will probably wait until the 11th hour to send pictures in to ensure my tan is a little darker.

Won’t enter pictures until first week in July so I can work on the tan and get a little tighter and fuller.
