I mean the video has you benching about 355 by my count. Almost 100 lbs off the 450+ claim.

I creeped his Instagram. Looks like he has weird size plates. If what he claims is true it’s 3 different style 45’s per side, a 25 maybe and a 10 maybe. Who knows. Still a strong bench.

It’s not adding up for me either.

Its 3 45s a 35 and a 10 in that video which makes 405

Benching at a commercial gym today ill send videos

On a scale of 1-10, your buddy scored a 1,000 on the hype-up though.

I don’t think you need any more feedback beyond what @EyeDentist has provided. The only point I would add is be careful not to chase strength or avoid a plateau so hard that you one day find yourself 100+lbs overweight, with a dozen bad habits to break and with a 2+ year journey back to a healthy weight. ā€œHow did it get so late, so soon?ā€ And all that (consider a self-imposed weight class).

I only say this because I don’t see much more benefit coming from this thread for you. You post a 455 bench or you dont, then what?

Want to prove yourself or get validation for your hard work? Go to a bench only powerlifting event not the internet. You will only have a positive experience and come away with the respect of your fellow lifters. You will probably also come away with potential new friends and probably more good advice that you need. IMO, you get an empty version of that from here, at best.

Great effort for the 225 reps

You really dont want to be picking up injuries and pec strains in your mid teens. …
…Evaluate your warm up and mobility work and increase/do some stretching. post workout.
Also rotate out flat bench now and then for incline, board presses etc, smith machine, hammer strength even

Narrow is a really good one for me. Could even do those with a block to reduce shoulder and pec involvement to build triceps.

lol, yeah move over Larry Wheels

Get a coach. Not some low level - straight out of a cookie cutter gym training programme that’s geared towards 45 year old mums. But a real strength coach. A guy or girl that has taken people to and past your goals.

This is the best advice I can give anyone looking for such general advice.
