There was a guy at my old gym who did partial dumbbell curls. He would hold two 15 pounders close to he chest and just vibrate them. He did this every workout, the entire summer, with total and absolute intensity.
That guy needs to be shot. with a shotgun on video with his highest 1RM.
I was surprised the vast majority of comments were negative.
typical youtube comment on such videos—> “OMGWTFLAWLZ! thats a lot of wait! u r strong! LOL”
I think that first squat-like exercise had to hurt him on the re-rack. His entire torso was just doing the wobble-fish as he slammed it into the rack. That’s just nasty. Should make a sticky thread on “How NOT to do Exercises” and post these kind of things.
Trust me you wouldn’t like to see the Smith Machine Inch Squat…Just amazing!
Why don’t we send the youtube guy messages to try out some other exercises heavy to see how he goes, you know, like a high incline press with the bar, oh I dunno, just above the clavicle?

He probably IS one of those guys who goes around telling everyone he squats that weight.
Dumbass.
Echoing the “we have a guy like that” message, I remember watching a guy at my gym doing 1/4 squats with 315 as his little friends watched. Then he adds another plate to each side for 405 lbs and starts repping out 1/8 squats, at which point he comments to little friend “man, this feels even easier than 315!” I was seriously in awe - if 405 lbs feels lighter than 315, doesn’t it occur to you that you’re cheating? But of course, his little friends just thought that was awesome.

Discounting that the box squats are way high, that weight doesn’t seem to be too much per say. The problem is the super dangerous set up and lack of spotting. First I don’t know why the guy felt the need to walk the squat out back outside the rack–he certainly wasn’t going too low for the fixed pins. Second, if he REALLY felt the need to he should have found 3 spotters, not 1. This would have avoided his accident. Third, he should find a gym with real racks…
haha … I read some of the responses, best one was “Who’s your team’s trainer? Hellen Keller?”
Those videos are really funny. The sad thing is squats like that count as a high school record, and they have the entire team there acting like the shit is for real. There are however some legitimate high school squat records, the heaviest I remember was 605 to powerlifting legal depth with belt and wraps.

there’s a guy at my gym that “lifts” like this guy. I call him Mr. Wiggles. He will load up the squat rack or bench without any warmup, unrack it and move it no more than an inch or two. That is no exaggeration either. He will do barbell curls and actually do what looks like a bridge to get the bar up as well. I can’t believe this guy hasn’t killed himself yet.
we;ve got a guy with 16" lean arms, a bodybuilding.com t-shirt that has both the sides ripped out, and thighs the size of his forearms. I named him atrophy man. Guy curls and benches frequently, but not much else.[/quote]
What’s wrong exactly with 16" arms?
Kid at my gym holds the Texas state squat record at 240 (high school). That was about three years ago, he was in from college the other day (football player) and squated 605 three times ATG…kids a beast.
Oh…his squat was a little over 800
