It is sad… but so true. I see this every time in my gym, from the same people squatting and benching 1/10 a rep.

I just can’t stop watching this dude squat and bench. I think I watched it about 8 times each. I think I am going to show my students this B.S. and explain to them the importance of not being this guy in the gym.

I thought this was hilarious to watch. Reminds me of my university gym, with all the “bros” there pumping each other up for their record setting rep of doom. I think, in their tribe, the guy who can pack the most weight on, and actually move less than anyone else going downward, is the guy with the biggest dick.

Atleast, thats what they make it seem like? :-/

Really, I don’t know man, this guy has posted like 4 or 5 videos of his squats or bench, he must think he is the shit…I think its his magically misinformed blue hooded sweatshirt…lol. I dont you have to be an expert to know that something isnt right, at one point during one of the squat videos, the ehem spotter is looking back at the camera almost as if to say “are we really going to use me as a spotter?”

there’s a guy at my gym that “lifts” like this guy. I call him Mr. Wiggles. He will load up the squat rack or bench without any warmup, unrack it and move it no more than an inch or two. That is no exaggeration either. He will do barbell curls and actually do what looks like a bridge to get the bar up as well. I can’t believe this guy hasn’t killed himself yet.

we;ve got a guy with 16" lean arms, a bodybuilding.com t-shirt that has both the sides ripped out, and thighs the size of his forearms. I named him atrophy man. Guy curls and benches frequently, but not much else.

Sounds like the dude at my gym I call “Captain Partial Rep”, but he doesn’t do legs. He will set up the bench in the power rack and lock out the last inch.

Love the 6" leather belts. I had one in the 80’s and hated it.

Still, I think you guys are missing the point on the bench press, it’s actually the spotter doing shrugs and the guy on the bench is HIS spotter.

Scary thought about the squats though, what if he messed up and went another inch lower? Holy shit. Would that be classed as suicide, accidental homicide, manslaughter on the old fella???
