Went to the gym today for some cardio. Rode the stationary bike for 20 minutes (6.5) miles then did HIIT on the elyptical :20 seconds all out :40 seconds “recovery” pace… Drained when I got home and now it’s night class time till 10. Hopefully this diet coke helps…
Diet Coke is the only thing that seems to help me choke down the plan tuna lol.
So far day one down and second day isn’t to bad other than all my friends are going out for beer and wings and i know if i go there is no way i could hold back

oh I definitely am with you on that second part. I had to just stay home by myself this weekend for the games cause everyone was out having some beers and wings. I felt like such a loser

I take it you are talking about the section in that thread where they talk how your fat is more “squishy” cos it has nothing holding it together? lol.
Yeah, I read that too, kinda what I am basing it on. Plus I am now getting into that stubborn lower ab fat that is a BITCH to get rid of.
Next weigh-in: Thurs during my second lifting session of the week. Training tonight with the rugby team, but its at the sister facility to my normal gym, so not the same scale.

I haven’t weighed myself since starting the diet but I know what you mean. I kinda feel like I looked my best Sunday morning (morning of day 7) and now I kinda feel skinny fat. I read about that in the old RFL vs V -Diet thread and people had said the same thing but said after they carbed up they looked better and actually peaked a few days after ending the diet so we’ll see.
I’m thinking about hitting up a little more cardio as well just to see if that helpsReggiereg.
yep man thats what im talking about. Kinda looking “squishier” today than I did sunday morning (where I feel I looked my best) hopefully the next couple days clear that up
I was going to ask about that. I to have noticed that I look soft almost skinny fat, at one point I thought about coming off. Hope that clears up. I read in the last thread the Bricknyce looked his best 2 weeks after he finished.
B: 1cup egg whites, spinach and 1oz of ff cheddar cheese
L: 5oz chicken and broccoli
D: Lean (99%) ground turkey and green beans
S: Sugar free jello (whole damn box, so damn good!) and a whey shake
TOUGH day. Totally dragging ass for the majority of the day. Felt ok in the morning, did 30 minutes of slow ass cardio and was wiped. Had to take a nap. Also experienced hot flashes throughout the day…weird shit.
Brain has also been on stun. Good stuff. It is always fun to open the fridge, or cabinet and forget why. Even better the old walk into a particular room for something and not have a clue what it was that you wanted or why!
Started to come around about 7 or so (thank god because I have work to do and need mai brainzzzzzz). Perhaps I have shifted over to fat oxidation already…seems kinda early. I just hope I don’t feel like ass tomorrow as I am going to try to lift.
Gonna try to muscle through it (no gatoraid) depending on how I feel.
Good job everyone!! Looking forward to hearing about some progress.

I actually looked a lot better this evening after my workout session. Night and day from what I looked like this morning. This shit is beyond me, lol.

I actually looked the best during training late in the diet. I did the cat 1 and the last half I added Gatorade and whey peri-wo. I got very vascular due to water and fat loss. Nothing is more satisfying than the instant results of the RFL, but nothing is tougher. I have tons of respect for those of you who stick it out! As far as drinks go, seems like you have nailed the right ones. Coffee, diet pop, diet energy drinks, crystal light, and water. I couldn’t have done it without the caffeine.

It is all water flucuations, between subcutaneous fluid, extracellular and intracellular fluids. Why do you think the pros fiddle with carbs, water and sodium so much!
Ren - what are you using for stims…did I read hot rocks or was that Greg?
Yeah I’ve been thinking about trying a post workout protein shake so that I get that instant protein after I lift.
Im using HOT-ROX for my stimulant. It seems to be helping cause once I take them I feel good. I start to drag before its time for me to take them again and they kinda wear off
I’ve only got three more days of the cat 1 diet and Im thinking of cutting my protein intake down to only super lean tuna/salmon to see how that goes… I was eating quite a bit of that early in the diet when I feel like I was seeing the best results… but three days of fish and egg whites sounds pretty bland and awful to me

thanks the hardest thing is gonna be the black coffee so im with ya docL wonder if splenda and SF creamer would be ok LOL
i too am cat2… and bikinis and january just dont mix…
I don’t think the splenda will be an issue, I use it in my coffee. If you are worried about the maltodextrin in the splenda switch to the new one that has “fiber” instead.
I would consider using a little creamer, but I just drink too much damn coffee. I can easily rack up 150+cals in half and half in no time! I should probably just switch to tea as I like it without creamer.
I used Erythritol—almost zero impact on blood sugar/insulin response and has a pleasant sugary taste. I still used milk —but very low fat and sparingly…didn’t seem to have too much of a negative effect.
These things are debatable…you could argue that I would have had better results completely cutting out the dairy…but the little treats like that helped with my compliance on everything else and that was important 'cause the diet is resonably tough.
Besides, I don’t play well with others untill I have had my coffee!
It is crazy to hear stories… meaning you lose weigh but you still don’t see the results you are looking for right away. Like the skinny fat feeling. Doesn’t seem like you are making the progress you should but are dropping the LBS. Psychology of how our minds works is weird. Just my 2 cents
I’m not doing the RFL diet, but I’ve been following this thread as I am dieting and in my first week. I’m just wondering how you guys are setting up your training split? Thanks…
Oh I saw results DAMN fast…then they kind of went away for 2 days and came back, and went away… Gonna post pics here in a few.

a couple days ago I posted about my concerns with supplementing with electrolytes. Well, I bit the bullet and purchased some magnesium (which I was not worried about), and some potassium gluconate (which I was a little more hesitant to purchase do to the potential arrhythmic side effects of excess potasium intake).
Turns out the potassium comes in pill form of only about 3% of your daily value (99mg doses).A person would be taking 10 of these to get to the recommended dosage. I didn’t plan on taking nearly that much.
So i’ve been supplementing with both the magnesium (500mg) and potassium (300 mg), and I feel worlds better. I’m no longer dragging ass, and I no longer have that lethargic feeling I had in the first couple of days.
Problem is, I can’t tell you if this 1) completely psychological 2) due to my body adjusting to a different calorie source 3) due to the electrolyte supplementation. It’s most likely a combination of the three.
There is no control group version of me to test this out unfortunately. Just thought I would report my positive results for those in Cat 3 who plan on staying on this for more than 2 weeks, and might want to consider purchasing magnesium and potassium.

Slept in this morning as it is my last day off. Back to work tomorrow…booooo. Didn’t help that I was up till 2am getting syllabi written etc. I had way too much energy last night and had difficulties sleeping.
Down 1 more this morning, that should be the end of the water/glycogen. Now the real battle begins. This is one of those times when being a chick sucks monkey balls.
On a more positive note, my top abs are back…WOOT WOOT! Everything else is squishy so that is interesting.
Energy is good so far and I am off to go lift in a bit. I have tons of work to do today, but will wrap up the days happenings tonight.
