I actually looked a lot better this evening after my workout session. Night and day from what I looked like this morning. This shit is beyond me, lol.

I was going to ask about that. I to have noticed that I look soft almost skinny fat, at one point I thought about coming off. Hope that clears up. I read in the last thread the Bricknyce looked his best 2 weeks after he finished.[/quote]

You know, I probably would not have a problem with it if when I started I was a bit smoother. However, I am doing it as a Cat.1 and when I started I already had visible abs and seperation in my legs, sucks to look like I am going backwards.

On a more positive note, my top abs are back…WOOT WOOT! Everything else is squishy so that is interesting.

got the same thing going on. free meal tonight, curious to see how I look tomorrow morning.

Morning everyone… Day 10 is off to a good start. Woke up with a surprisingly large ammount of energy today so that’s good. I’m gonna try to get these last three days without drinking any soda or anything. Gonna lift this afternoon around 4:30 so we’ll see if that energy level carries over or not… Alright well good luck to everyone who’s still dieting today and I’ll post later on.

also on a side note I’m officially over fat free cheese… ughhh

.greg.

the stuff is awful compared to regular cheese…can’t wait to have mild cheddar or mexican four cheese blend again!!

got back from the gym and I feel like I had a good workout. I was really tempted to step onto the scale as I walked past but I figured if I’d held out this long I can wait two more days… workout went as follows:

(Working sets only)

Dead Lift: 2 x 6 @ 315
Push Press: 2 x 6 @ 185 (shoulders are still weakest point)
Incline DB Press: 2 x 6 @ 80, 100 (picked incline to hit the front delts a little more)
BB Bent Over Row: 2 x 6 @ 225
Pull Up: 3 x 6 w/ 25lb dumbbell
Dips: 2 x 10 w/ 50lb dumbbell

also did some curls and tricep extensions to finish off my workout. Didn’t have time for and cardio cause tonight is “date night” and I gotta get freshened up lol

awesome read. Read the whole thing. too bad none of us are close here in Cali. This diet looks like a good option when I go for it. I’ll look for it. Keep up the good work guys.

lo fat cottage chz is an acceptable option!

I bought the snack sized ones(2.5F 5C) I think…cutting it close, but Id eat that in the mornings before training…

I never even bought that ff cheese…YUCK!

Thread’s slow today. Only 1 page of posts as opposed to the typical 2-3

Keep up the good work, everyone! I’m finishing up the V-Diet and starving.

Ok today’s day 11… I think today’s gonna be my last day on the diet… The book said 11 or 12 days as a cat 1 and I’m thinking 11 is good for me. I’ll start my full diet break tomorrow and see what my progress is. I’ll probably weigh in tomorrow morning and get some measurements to see the damage… Good luck to everyone still going strong

.greg.

had my cheat meal last night. Skinny fat look disappeared literally overnight, though I do look less lean than yesterday. Shit is weird.

Feeling good though, gym tonight.

Hi all,

Was too busy last night to post. Still hanging in there! Down to 137.5 today from 144 on Monday. Holy crap on toast!

Trained yesterday:

Superset 1, performed 3 times. All unilat reps are per arm/leg.

DB Bentover Rows: 35lbs x 10, 40 x 8, 45x8
DB unilat flat bench press: 30lbs x 10, 35x8, 40x6
DB step ups: 15x10, 17.5x8, 20x8
DB unilat bicep curls: 17.5x10, 20x10, 22.5x8
DB unilat tricep press (laying on bench): 12.5x10, 15x10, 17.5x8

Superset 2, performed 3 times.

Leg press, Quad dom.: 90x10, 110x8, 140x5 (failure)
Leg press, Posterior chain dom.: 90x12, 110x10, 140x10
Standing unilat DB shoulder press: 22.5x10, 25x8, 27.5x6
Back Extension holding plates: 10x12, 15x10, 25x8
Face pulls: 60x12, 70x8, 75x8

NO cardio. Felt beastly strong, could have lifted heavier but I pussed out. Was afraid to push too hard. Felt awesome all day but super hungry

Food intake was similar to yesterday but moved the shake from before bed to PWO. Free meal tonight, can’t wait as I am a bit wiped today. First day back to work and not used to getting up at 5:30am yet. All in all good shit!

so Greg- how do u feel you did? your thoughts before the weigh and measurements???

day 3 for me  had a great night! no temptations … so hard with little ones eating nonstop
feel much slimmer this morning? havent weighed, trying to decide when to do the meal and the refeed…
suggestion on spacing that seems to work for you all??

i am about to go do a little cardio had a great breakfast…

question… how much bearing do you think sleep has on your weight?

Ummm thats a good question? How I feel I did as in adhering to the diet or as how good the results were? I’ll take that as a two part question.

  1. Adhering to the diet: In that case I think I did good. I started out the first two days at the suggested 2.0g per pound of LBM which was 370 but that was just way too high (IMO) and a ton of food to eat. I was gonna go broke eating that much chicken and turkey every day. So I dropped my protein intake down to between 250 and 300grams a day which was still above the recommended low end of the spectrum.

  2. Results: Well I think no matter how you look you’ll always want to look better but I would say that I’m satisfied with my results. I honestly have no idea what i’ll weigh in at tomorrow or what my measurements will be but I can for sure tell that my pants are looser and that I almost need a belt (which I hate wearing. I don’t know why but I’ve always been an anti belt kinda guy) Like I said before I feel like of all the mornings I’ve looked the best it was sunday morning but who knows?

I’m going to do the refeed days and then remeasure/weigh and see what the fluctuations are there? I think that’ll give me a better understanding of what my overall results are from the diet. The goal of this diet was to drop off 5-10lbs that I gained post surgery and jumpstart my training then use my normal routine to get back to where I was before.

I’ve been getting a lot of sleep while on this diet but I’m not sure what effect that has had? You said you’re feeling skinnier already? Good job! you probably are. One thing I’m kinda regretting is not weighing in every other day or something. I kinda wish I would have just to see what effects my training and eating/drinking volume had on my weight… but oh well

.greg

on the meal and refeed, I go weds for the free meal, sat for the refeed. I lift tues, thurs, and sat. so it gives me 2 and 3 day gaps between each. best way to split it up I think.

thanks!!! im refeeding today and gonna do meal on sunday… seems to best fit my schedule
i do a workout class m-w-f and weights t-th …
need the extra fuel for monday the class kicks my ass!!

my main problem is sleep… im a night owl, and on m,w,f i get up at 4 AM to get to the gym by 5
so those nights i TRY to get in bed early, but seems to be late everynight… midnight and beyond.
so basically im functioning on 4 hours those days?? i get up between 6-8 on the other days…
sucks! but its tough with little ones so the only time i can do the class is 5 am
hoping i can add hours asap…

greg- cant wait to hear results…

and did i miss it somewhere how do u determine how long you stay on the diet???

for the cat 1 dieter its 11-12 days then 2-3 days of refeed. Yesterday and today I’ve felt kinda burned out so I’m ready to be done and eat a pancake or something lol
