Weighed in today and I’m at 223, based on the original scale that’s 27 pounds down.

Go Chimy!

Thanks

27 pounds is amazing! Can’t wait to see the next set of progress photos.

So the low calories are finally catching up with me, my last couple of session have been pretty poor. Going to deload and I’ll be taking my diet break in a couple of weeks.

Sounds like you need it.

Just dont let it turn into an all out rebound. Give yourself a week, two max, of eating at or slightly above maintenence, then transition back into the RFL.

Just my .02, great progress keep it up.

Thanks for the advice and the encouragement, I started today and I just had a bowl of oatmeal.
Man is it tasty.

I love oatmeal. I rarely get to eat it anymore :frowning: Glad you enjoyed and hope you are feeling stronger.

Well I liked RFD. Gonna use it as my main protocol for cutting from now on. That being said, I’m switching modes a bit here since I was losing weight just a bit too fast for my liking (and the decision to compete in my first powerlifting contest resulting in me wanting to bulk up, get strength through the roof then cut down to the weight limit).

All said and done lost 10 lbs in about 2.5 weeks. Then I had wings and beer last night. It was glorious. As a side note I’ve been kind of combining how John Kiefer and Lyle do things and it really worked out. Kiefer recommends no breakfast until 3-4 hours after you wake (great article on this over at elitefts).

I’ve been doing that and enjoying it for the fact that though I’m hungry through the first part, I get to have a bigger dinner and go to bed satisfied.

makes absolute sense to me LM!

now that I think about it, I’ve naturally eaten that way for years without putting a label on it. I wake at about 6am, sip on coffee til about 8, and have a small serving of cottage cheese(or something else ridiculously small) about 930 before hitting the gym…first and biggest meal of the day after training.

I’m so cool and didn’t even know it.

I’ve always tried to force something into me in the mornings and it’s just not enjoyable for me (unless my morning is at noon when I sleep late and don’t have to work and am not hungover). Kiefer has some very interesting stuff, I don’t agree with all of it per say but the breakfast aspect has definitely been to my liking. Here’s the full article:

I said I wouldn’t crash diet again, but it’s very important to me to finish this year at my goal weight(160)
so I’m thinking once the hubby leaves again and we are settled into the school year routine, I’ll start this crazy diet again.
I hope 160 is IT! I’m tired of dieting. The RFL is dependable. Cardio, not so much. Or maybe it’s just me!

I’d blame the cardio.

YES! Lets blame the cardio

I can almost guarantee I will be where I want with the RFL in a matter of a couple months…with cardio and a cleanish diet, ya, I may get there (eventually) but not as rapidly, hehe.

so what I’m saying is that slow n steady may win the race but I want to get on with my life, yanno?

Definitely, it just depends on what kind of person you are. Personally, I hate dieting and I’ve always tried to get it over with as soon as possible.

On a side note, you could try phrasing your goals as certainties. Sounds silly, but it really helps me when I feel like breaking from my diet.

Heres the deal, I have something coming up the weekend of Aug 28th and I want to look as shredded as possible. I’ve been measured in the past few weeks anywhere from 9.5% to 11% BF. Its decent, but not ripped.

Heres the plan: Since I like to keep things painstakingly simple, this is what I’ll do for the 12 days leading up to the event.

5 casein shakes per day, 3 shakes with 2 scoops (240 cal) and 2 shakes with 3 scoops (360 cal).

A whopping total of 1440 cal with trace carbs, trace fat and almost 300g of protein.

Yes this is a hybrid of RFL cat 1 and the V-Diet. It is strict as hell and since I will not be getting alot of micronutrients I will be supplementing with a daily multi, fish oil and a superfood-like supplement.

I will be training heavy 3 days per week on a push, pull, legs split. “But you won’t have any energy” Fuck you, I’ll be fine.

Add in the 6 day program “The Last 10 lbs” and you’ll be good to go most likely. It’s a water/sodium manipulation protocol. Also is your new avatar an homage to my wings and beer fetish?

I share the same fetish. I will actually be indulging tonight at Hooters “Wingsday” all you can eat for $9.99.

Yeah I’m the asshole talking about wings in a diet thread.

Heh I was doing it earlier. I’m not a fan of Hooters wings. Not enough meat. Great service though…

I prefer buffalo wild wings all you can eat that runs Mon-Fri 10-2 for 10 bucks (runs at some locations). Tasty wings.
