If this is indeed true it totally sucks, I love The Natural and respect the hell out of him for doing what he does, especially at 44.
Holy shit.
Well, as good as he is you still have to consider the fact that, as you stated, he is 44. Most other fighters have retired a whole lot younger. Couture is a family man, he’s been doing this for very long. He has his priorities straight.
Too bad. Besides Vera (Mir, Congo,Cro-Cop) there is not a long line-up of challengers. Boredom?
no Fedor vs Couture ![]()
Good for him. He decided to go out on a high note. Sucks he wont be ringside though.
Good for him going out on top. I bet he will be back ringside announcing select fights down the road unless Dana White’s ego is too bruised.
Here’s what I found. The other site is blocked.
shit…sounds like he’s got beef with the UFC

Actually we may see this fight just not in the UFC… Fedor signed with M1 and was the reason couture quit (among others) After his 9 month no compete clause lapses i wouldnt be surprised if we see this fight
Good for him. From what I read he wasn’t getting anything like the respect he deserved from Dana and the UFC. The guy is a living legend and they were lying to his face while paying him substandard wages.
Like everyone else I wanted to see him fight (and hopefully win over) Fedor but that seems to not be in the cards. Besides that who really wants to watch him have to fight lesser fighters. Maybe down the road after his contract expires and circumstances change that fight will still happen…
I wouldn’t have minded seeing a fight with Big Nog or Arlovski… too bad.
Like others have said the UFC was giving him the short end of the stick in terms of pay. As Randy said, all the fighters are close they all know how much they make on and off the record + PPV %. The UFC was telling him he was the 2nd highest paid fighter, far from the truth. Also again as Randy stated, the only person he felt worth fighting at his age and where he was in the game was Fedor the #1 ranked fighter in the world pound for pound. I gained much more respect for Randy today than I had for him already.
BWAHAHAHAH! Going out on top while giving Dana White the middle finger, that’s an exit folks. My hero.
Ya kno, with wahts been going on lately in the UFC,i wouldnt be surprised if D. White hits the bricks. First he brung Crocop but as it turn out Crocop hasent been a very good profit (SO FAR),Second wiht the Purchase of Pride,The UFC liquidated Pride which distants itself from the worlds largest Fanbase of MMA and MMA Fighters. Big Mistake.
Not only did they lose out on some very great fighters but they completely isolated Japan and Russia. Thats alot of Loss money. And third, the most damaging case would be the fact that Couture plainly states taht the UFC is poorly managed and the White has been disrespecting him with the money they offered him and the fact that he was lied to.
Interesting thoughts on the subject.
Huge news. What a spectacular loss for the UFC. Dana should be on the phone right now apologising.

Honestly, I think the UFC will miss him more as an ambassador than they will as a fighter.
Randy himself has said he only wanted one more fight (Fedor), so they were going to lose him as a fighter in the near future anyway. Granted, it would have been a huge fight, but it was still just one fight. In essence, all they have lost from a fight perspective is one-quarter of the main card for one event.
Where they will really miss him is in his capacity as the face of the UFC. Randy is universally respected and was a great ambassador for the company and the sport.
Hmmm Tito Ortiz has come off sounding like a baby complaining about White and money for years and it happened again with his return losing some popularity in the process. Now with Randy saying the same thing?..
It seems no fighters complain about the salaries unless, one they resign in bad blood like Couture (felt disrespected) or gets shafted like Tito. It’s exposed now. Would like to see how the boxerciser Dana White handles things now.
