Pulled 290kg (638lbs) for a double last friday, third time pulling 600 or above.Second rep was pretty ugly but easy enough. Race for 700 is on!

If you don’t mind, can I suggest that you try flaring your feet out a little bit more? It’s a trick I picked up recently. It lets me get a little closer to the bar on my setup because I don’t have to pull the bar over my knees. It also has translated well to my lockout because I can pull in one fluid motion and can activate my glutes better with a flared stance. I’ve had tremendous success with it, and watching your videos it seems like you are facing the same issues that caused me to change.
frankjl-
I’ll give that a shot. I think I have flared my toes a little more in the past and don’t know why I stopped. Thanks for the tip.

That first rep was so fast. Any insight on how you got to where you are now?

Done ed coan/phillipi last summer which brought it from 260kg-290kg, got sick of deadlifting and didnt really deadlift heavy for a while. Ran westside after that up until my first comp which was on january of this year, continued with westside up until april then i got injured and switched to 531 for a few cycles. Now back on the ed coan routine, just finished week 5 and would like to pull 320kg in my next comp. Bit ambitious but might as well aim high haha.
Hey thread. i have an Inquery. Fisrt off I am 16 weighing in at about 250 and im 6’1". I am workong on a world record squat right now. The gihst i could find is a 475 squat done a year ago. Post a video big dog…that is a pretty awesome squat for your age. We can help you out better after seeing where you might break down.
What do you mean by “neutral stance”…just not very wide?
After a frustrating year of life being crazy, I finally have a squat PR: 575x2 to a box. Took a shot at 605 but lost upper back tightness on the way up.

Got a push/pull coming up in February that I want to do. Haven’t sent in the registration form yet but it’s on the list of things to do this weekend.
I suffered an injury (some type of sciatica/piriformis thing) about 10 months ago, and it killed my strength in all the lifts. I’m finally back though- I regularly squat 605 and just last week I pulled 615. Now to compete, then get leaner and stronger.
IM a novice (was) to the site and powerlifting…but doesn’t stop me setting high goals haha, current deadlift pr 250kg (pounds? IM from the uk) hopefully ill hit 272.5kg in 10weeks for the British championships???fingers crossed
Redirecting... my 250kg lift at my first novice meet
I’m officially putting my name in to reach 600lbs before my birthday in August.
today I pulled 500x4 AFTER my regular work sets because I was feeling really good.
*note: the 4th rep was not a drop…I threw the weight down because I got a little too excited. Shit happens.
of course there’s a big white box…
take 2 I guess. - YouTube
