Race to 315 Squat/Deadlift

Haha, what I meant to ask was; I still wanna join the race to 315 but I wanna do it the way I’ve always done my lifting, without counting the bar. (???)
I pulled 285 in plates in Nov last year. If I count the bar, its 330lbs total. (Conventional)
With squats I can’t really remember the last time I tested my strength. Last I can recall I did 225lbs for 3 reps. If I add the bar its 270lbs. If I remember correctly my MAX last August was 225x1 which is 270x1.

Im not trying to show off or anything btw…[/quote]

if you can squat or pull more than 315, why would you enter that lift in this thread rather than a thread about heavier lifts?? I entered my squat in this thread, but my deadlift is in the 400 thread.

that’s WITH the bar…

Ok fine! Im moving before I get slain by anyone!

Just one last question, it may be stupid but i just gotta ask ; is the bar in the Smiths Machine also 45lbs?

it weighs this many lbs:

whogivesafuck.536

in all seriousness, I think 45 lb also.

315 Smith Machine Squat does not equal a 315 squat…

Actually from what i have seen, and it could vary with machines, the smith machine bar usually weighs around 25lbs.

I thought actually that it “weighs” nothing. a smith bar doesn’t drop like a 25 lb weight thud

not sure how it’s relevant to this thread anyway…

Smith machines aren’t relevant to the thread - froivian is right.

Lets get back to work!

Today - Squat 205 for 3. I used my new adidas weightlifting shoes and went ass to grass, so I must reset my max. Althought the weight is less, it feels better knowing I’m doing full range of motion.

Got 275x5 today.

Pulled 265x6 today on Snatch Grip Deadlift.

Doing HFS for my squat, so won’t be seeing how ‘heavy’ I can go until about 3 more weeks, when I test my maxes for Bench, Squat, and seated OHP

I got 205 x 4 today. Focusing on good form but probably not as low as you though. 315 feels so far away. When are you hoping to get 315 on squat? How do you like your new shoes? I just got a pair of Chuck Taylor slims and like them better than my old New Balance cross training shoes.

315 will be no trouble for ya I’m sure

I don’t plan on squatting without sitting on a box for at least another 3-4 weeks. However, I should hit 295x3 straight bar box squat by then and I think that would convert to at least 315x1 regular. Only way to know is to see what happens though.

steady progress.

Slowly getting there. Hopefully by March when I enter a PL comp I can get 3 plates up!

Don’t get down. You’ll get it, just takes time.
