Race to 315 Squat/Deadlift

hit 295x3 last week. 315 is definitely coming soon

Digging this one up.

Went 117.5x10 today.

Maybe had one or two left, but was seeing some stars and didn’t want to dump the bar if I failed.

I seem to be a heap better at repping than I am at maxing out. Sucks!

260 squat already have the deadlift

355x2 deadlift after sldl off a deficit

275x3 squat

Getting close. Seven and a half months training, got the deadlift. Current Squat PR’s are 250x5, 275x1. Keep it up gents.

After not testing the waters since I did 130kgx1 (approx 285lbs) in April. I attempted and got 160kg (approx 350lbs) today. Onto 4 wheels now. For those still targeting 315, keep at it!

My goal for the end of the year! Started training mid May and right now my best squat is 205 for 5 and a 225 DL for 5. I’m sure I’ll hit that in the DL by then and I’m gonna try for a single in the squat at 315.

Today hit 127.5 to a 14" box which is a little below parallel for me. Then 135 was quick. So finished with a 142.5kg.

To a box, that’s a 12.5kg PR. Finally have the 315. Slowly moving onwards and upwards!

Good luck to everyone. It took me damn ages to get 315 but recently trying a Westside method has seemed to help both my squat and bench. Keep plugging on!

Last max a month ago was 315 for me on the squat, but still catching up on deadlift (I know, so backwards)- 285. Just started deadlifting this year but been squatting for quite awhile, so hopefully I’ll see some pretty quick gains on that front. I’ll join in for the deadlift race though.

Mighty mouse not trying to discredit your lift and am only asking because I think it will be a benefit to you. Will you post a video of your squat and deadlift. There are only a very few reasons why your squat would be more than dead. Honestly the most common is because your not squatting low enough so therefore you squat number is inflated. Or its a form problem on the deadlift that could be corrected in just a session or two and could possibly give a extra 20-30 lbs to your deadlift.

Three weeks ago I squatted 120kg for a double and felt good for four, then last week got 110kg x 10. Allegedly that puts me pretty close. I’ll test a 1rm at then end of my next 6 week cycle - by then I reckon I’ll have 140kg and change.

Deadlifts been there for more than a year, I’ve just spent too much time ducking about and only now am I getting close to 405.

I’m in. Deadlifts are on the race to 405, but my squats are lagging at 235x2. Going to try for a new PR today. There, I have posted that I will do this on a public forum. Therefore, I am now honourbound to do so (because nobody ever lies on forums, riiiiiiiiight?)

Update: 100 kg for 8, putting the estimated max at 125 kg or so. Hope to hit 120 kg for 5 this year, which would put my max around 315 lbs or slightly less. Currently doing 5/3/1 with Simplest Strength Template assistance work, and doing pause squats (on DL day) for squat assistance.

I haven’t done them before but so far they feel good and they’ve already fixed my problem with falling forward when coming out of the hole. Also doing RDLs which seem to work better than GMs for me.

EDIT: Todays (Sep 5) workout was 105 kg for 7!

I squatted 160kg / 353lb the other week, which was a 20kg PR.
Deadlift is 215kg / 474lb so yes… I have a massive difference between lifts haha.

Last Saturday I squatted 275x3, Benched 225x6 and Deadlifted 315x3. Yeah, I did all of them 5/3/1, ain’t ever doing that again cause it was brutal for me, but setting these new PR’s was worth it!!

315 DL, check. I’m gunning for you, 315 squat!!

My program: 8 cycles of 5/3/1 for bodybuilding. Now on a deload week, and come monday I’ll start 5/3/1 Fullbody.

Nice work on your PRs man.

I’m a huge fan of fullbody 5/3/1, have been using it since January.

You should start a training log on here!

Thanks! I truly thought I would faint. I purposely did squat first, then bench so I could tackle the DL a bit ā€œrestedā€. Boy was I in for a rude awakening, but I managed to tear that weight a new one.

I will start a training log. Figured everyone else has one, why not me?

Pulled a 315 dead with straps a few months ago, 275x5 raw last week.
270lbs on the squat thus far, last week as well.
5/3/1 numbers to come this month

So, so close. Hit 305 squat last week. I’m pretty sure I could grind 315 out if I had to.

Well, been working on my front squat and hit 280 couple days ago, so I guess 315 is in sight anyway.

Tested last month for my 50th b-day after my regular leg session. Hit a confident single 315 back squat and then worked up from 295 triples to an easy 415x3 on deads. Best thing about it was NO soreness or joint issues in the days after.

It also motivated my 18 yr old daughter to hit 205# triple on Trap bar deads the next day.
