Squatted 250x9 last night.
I was kinda in this race for a long time, but without posting here.
Anyway I hit 145kg (about 322 lbs I think) in a meet a couple weeks ago, and three plates has been a long term goal of mine since I started lifting.
So I’m happy!
Current best deadlift is 120kg x 5 should be hitting 140kg (roughly 315lb) in about 3-4 weeks running starting strength, last session was 110kg x 5 which was my first deadlifiting session on starting strength. I didn’t start with my maxes, set targets for the end of the 4 week period I can only work out 3 days per week and based my starting weights on that.
So in short, in for race to 315, should hit for five in a few weeks
I hit a 240lb deadlift for 12 yesterday. Puts my projected 1rm at around 345lbs. i’m doing the 5/3/1; when do you guys think I should make an attempt?
330 DL and 265 squat done, switched to 3/5/1 + a few singles on first and third week. Slowly getting back to my previous strength levels, even though I’m getting impatient. My DL form needs work too I think.
IFlashBack: If you’re not interested in switching the program or to some other variation of 5/3/1, you could only do the target number of reps on your 5/3/1 week and then do a few singles. That’s the usual recommended way to do it.
Hit a 150kg (330lbs) deadlift last week and 105kg (231lbs) x 5 oly squat yesterday. Projected squat max around 120kg. Have hit 130 for a double off of a box, but that was just above parallel, and I tend to free squat deeper than that.
140kg oly squat and 170kg deadlift are the 2012 goals. 4 plate dead would be awesome.

Cheers
Dead lifted 308 pounds today. I have a metric set so that is all the plates I have. I gotta nab some more plates off a neighbor or something hahaha.
Today’s squats:
215x5
235x3
265x6 (this beats my previous 265x5, and I left a rep in the tank)
285x1
I deicided to make the switch to the 5/3/1 for powerlifting setup, and 285 was redicoulously easy. I could’ve done 3 or 4.
Hello all! I’ve been lurking around T-Nation for awhile now and finally decided to join. I’ve got the deadlift but need to work on squat. I hit a 305 squat at the end of last summer but my lifts went downhill after doing too much when going back to school. I’ve done Wendler’s recent 5/3/1 3-month BBB challenge and this month I’ve been transitioning back to the normal 5/3/1. For weeks 1 and 2, I have done 5x255 and 3x270. I will be going for a rep PR on Friday.
Update even though Its been forevers since I’ve been in here
Deadlifted 315x7
Squatted 250x5 (with room to do more)
275x4 for Squats yesterday. Had a rep or two more in me, but straps on my Oly Shoe came undone around the 3rd rep, made me quite unstable. lol
Recently hit 280 on squat and 285 on DL. Though i feel like itll probably be another month or two before i hit 315 for both. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get a stronger grip on DL.?Ive done wrist roller, plate pinches, etc. but my grip is still a weak point in DL. Any help would be much apperciated
Plate pinches, hex dumbell holds. I use double overhand for all of my warm up sets. Do farmers walks. That shit works.
Remember if you cant grip it you cant lift it.
If you have access to an older slick bar with less knurling that will make a man out of you to overhand grip it.
thanks man
After more than a month of pure Squat PR Drought, I finally found the remedy to my squat and hit a PR today:

I deadlifted 325 and I don’t squat due to hip injuries. Peace out boys.
