Race to 315 Squat/Deadlift

Will front squats help my upper back? I feel strong enough to get 335 up, but my upper back would round really bad… What would be good assistance and how could I incorporate it into the Texas Method?

Yeah, heavy front squats will help. Even standing with a heavy bar across your shoulders helps.

When should I do them? Volume, recovery, or intensity day?

I’m not familiar with the Texas Method and can’t recommend how you’d work them in but for upper back, DB Rows heaviest you can go for 10-20 reps, chin-ups, and Face Pulls would be a good starting point.

I just finished the last working week of my second month and pulled 210 for 10 reps and squatted 235 for 8.

245 x 5 on squat today.

Missed my 215 x 5 on bench today, only did 215 x 2 (even though I did 3 reps on friday) should I reset or retry on this Friday?

^^ I’d retry. If no good, then reset. Don’t base it off one attempt.

Hit 140kg (308lbs) on Monday atg. Thats 3 plates in the European version. Just 7 more lbs before I get to 315. Squatting tomorrow, focusing on fs, hopefully I will get up to at least 135kg on bs after I do my fs though.

Dissection, retry, some days I just dont have it (whatever that is) give it one more shot before resetting.

280x5 squat… almost at a 315 1rm.

Tried for 142.5kg yesterday and failed. Damn.

Squatted 255x4 today. Need to work on not falling forward. Damn my lanky proportions…

x2 on lankyness. Also, hit 250 x 3 on Squat on Friday. Thats the end of my madcow run.

Yea, its nice here. The winter was brutal, so damn dark for so long, but spring has come and its finally enjoyable again.
