In. Current working max is 255 for 5/3/1 calculation purposes. Though I have yet to test my truemax since switching from whatever the he’ll I was doing before to actually performing full ROM squats. Current best is 195 x 5.

See you at 315 mid summer!
I did 195x7 for my first set today. I’m aiming for 315 in June.
Didn’t you use to squat low bar or am I mistaken? Thought I read this in your log somewhere. And thanks.
I’ve tried it before, never liked the way it felt for my shoulders.
I used to squat wider but I have a 10 year old injury in my right groin that made that stance very uncomfortable.

Ever tried shoulder dislocates?
I should clarify:
I don’t like the potential for a horrible shoulder injury, in addition to the position being less comfortable than high bar squat. I get enough shoulder tweaks from upper body pressing.

You boys are lucky that I’m chasing my physique goals right now instead of my PL goals. I’m sure you all would have hated getting beat by a girl :)
that would give some of us a welcome kick in the ass, myself included.

I kinda always went with what was comfortable for me, and its in the middle between high-bar and low-bar. If you had to choose one or the other i’d say its a little more towards low bar. I’m working on flexibility so i can get my elbows under completely but i haven’t felt it rough on my shoulders (knock on wood) they just get a little sore for a day or 2 after straight bar squats sometimes.

The worst was when I first started I squatted low bar but didn’t understand the concept of hips back so I had such trouble squatting for awhile.

Oh, don’t you worry. Whenever I get back into meet mode, there will be plenty of vids. Right now, there’s really not a whole lot to see.

Concluded this cycle of squat on Westside with a 1RM of 285lbs. Gonna switch to some type of deadlift for the next few weeks. Probably be a while till I squat again.
