Race for Plates!


I have done 2x BW + 30 DL with the trap bar (~month ago).

Not a regular DL, I know. My goal is to do it sumo in the next few months.

Push encourages me to do more all the time. He took this photo for me so I could concentrate. He is my inspiration, coach, and love!

If so, that means you are about 15 away from a 2x BW dl! Nice! With 6 singles of 275 I bet you are closer than that even. Get it!

Maybe. I need to get some stuff put together first. My back is really weak so I need to super concentrate on that. I seem to tweak it doing the stupidest shit like getting out of the car or putting a 45 back on the weight tree. :confused:

Are there any lifts you can do?

Squats getting better

Been doing bottom up squats. To improve my back squats. Pause on the pins for count of 5 then lift.

Have done One plate with the zerk squat now I have to do the back squat.

Up to One plate 3sets of 5 each !!!

I have to admit, I am a little confused by what I’m interpreting by the randomness of your posting in this thread (I obviously am confused about what’s going on here). I thought this thread was specifically for posting pictures of winning moments for the specific contests mentioned in this thread between several members. Don’t get me wrong, I think your posts are amazing, and you’re doing a great job, but I’m confused about what they have to do with the thread. Are you competing with yourself?

On a side note, we’d love to see a training log of your’s. Do you have one set up in the regular log section or are you planning on set one up in PW?

I’m doing box squats now to help with my squat form. Sort of the same as a bottom up squat in that you have to pause at the bottom. I like the box squats they make sure I use proper form so I don’t hurt my knees. :slight_smile:

I don’t mind discussions of how to get better at the lifts and strategy talk for when to go for the next higher plates, or when you are going for the next higher.

Although yes, TR, you should start a log in either PW or even the O35 section, that’s where I am. I share a log with Edgy and Print. Threesome log ftw!. :smiley:

Okay not sure if I got the 225 or not. :-/

It was a bit hard to squeeze it up at the top. So not sure. Also I didn’t actually put the other 45 on as I had a 45, a 35, and a 5 on each side already(for the 215 a PR for me even if the 225 is a no) I just went all lazy and added another 5.

Wrist(left) was hurting in my stronger mixed grip so had to use the not as strong mixed grip. So was less happy day then the bench day despite the PR. The wrist thing was a bummer and frustrating. :-/

If anyone else has a better dl(form and the proper plates) you can totally have this win. lol
I know Hal has a dl today so we’ll see.

I’ll have chalk and healthy wrists next heavy singles day(in a little over a month) so will get it for sure then.

Charlie, if it were a meet, I’d red light you on the 215 for hitching. The 225 was much smoother but could have been locked out a teeny more. It’s not a meet though and you pulled two new PRs so I say the prize goes to you girl. You must be feeling over the moon. Congratulations.

It doesn’t matter what the mix of plates is either. It was 225 even if you decided to use a crap ton of 5s or something.

To be honest, the 225 looked easy. When are you going for more? I think you easily have another 20 lbs; probably more. I think the tentative part is a mental thing.

Yeah to mental stuff. Need to get in my zone for those last 2. lol

I thought I could do more too but my wrist was hurting for my strongest mixed grip so I had to use the weaker mixed grip, I had horrible thoughts of things snapping. :-/

I think I need to invest in some chalk too, some slipping. Also going to try adding in some rack pulls, maybe farmers walks/carries(?). I feel I need help at the top part. Back or glutes or something.

Thanks for your advice on the log. I have one of my own that I keep. Have looked at other logs kept here on T-Nation. Remember I am just new at this, only on my first year anniversary of lifting. So I wasn’t sure how to go about keeping a log on here that was proper form. I just wright down what I am doing and how I am progressing. It reads like Chinese sign language! LOL I didn’t want to confuse anyone further by doing it wrong.

I love keeping up on here with you all. It keeps me looking for the next PR.

well you’re looking pretty phenomenal yourself. As for the logs, there isn’t a “right” way to do them on here. Just writing down whatever you in a way that makes sense to you and posting pictures and videos like you have been would be more than good.

Dammit! Gawd I wanted to win on the two plate DL. You kilt it Charlotte… I probably try for mine this week. Let me see what happens with the food comp this seek. If I win my Avi is yours all week if I don’t its yours the week after :slight_smile:
