Thanks ladies!
I got the idea for the thread because of the challenge threads in GAL, which I am not really at a strength level to compete in. Ha ha
To Hal: Have you thought about trying heavy singles for your next 5/3/1 day so you can try and see if you can get the 225 before you get to into the diet stuff?
That’s what I plan on doing.
Also when you pulled your lat were you doing conventional dls or sumos?

I would try heavy singles if I knew how!
The LAT was sympathy from the floor but I was telling with the dec plates and it set wrong between reps. I then made it worse with heavy romanians ignoring the injury. Dumb! I only DL at the gym that has old school round plates now.[/quote]
I do my heavy singles on 5/3/1 day(so once a month) by only doing the 1 rep for the 1 even if I could do more(I probably could do more and still do the heavy singles but I wanted to save myself), then just add either 5 or 10 lbs to the bar after the 1 and try to pull or push it for 1 rep then keep going up by 5 or 10 like trying to figure out your 1 RM.
I like these for the lowerbody stuff mainly because I can’t seem to do lots of reps within a set, I get winded with high rep sets so how much I can do for 1 is not always indicated by how many reps I can do for a lower weight.
My upperbody lifts seem to match more closely though, they don’t get me winded like squats and dls.
To TR: Nice benching definitely more to come. And really nice numbers on the dl, the strong back pic definitely matches the numbers.
There were some articles here about getting past sticking points with partial reps(Starting the lift from your sticking point) I know I need to look into that for my OH press.
If I find the article I’ll post a link.

Oh ok! So next cycle for 5 3 1 week I will go for 1x 215
And if I get it then go for 1 x 225.
