“In life, the impact of words is astounding. The unthinking, well-meaning messages all around us are insidiouse. But we must attack, with extream prejudice, the messages that are offered as benign yet are malignant to the core.”
THE SITUATION: Antonia Banderas’s Character mills down a great big Viking sword to half its size so he can actually use it. He then does a series of fencing moves, cuts the top off of a log, weighs it in his hands and emits a satisfying grin.
THE QUOTE: One of the 13 warrior looks at him with a smirk and says, “When you die, can I give that to my daughter?”
In “Outlaw Josey Wales” Red Leg leader (bad guy) says to Josey’s former leader “Doin right aint got no end.” Always think about that when moral busybodies are trying to tell me what I can or cannot drink, eat, smoke, shoot, etc.
How about Tom Hanks’ line in A League of Their Own, “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.” That one is definitely a classic…
Another favorite of mine, Henry David Thoreau, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”

The first guy falls to the ground and starts crying: “we are going to die up here” as he lays their and quits.
The second guy grabs him by the coat and start to walk. he then says: “Then we will die walking”!
Zeb – that movie was a hollywood version of the book Alive! I read that one in 6th grade (1976). Another book of the same was titled They Ate Human Flesh, which came out some years later.
