Christian,
I have a couple of questions about the “Athletic” portion of your pendulum training article. The first one is, “When are you going to write a detailed one about athletes? You have done one for the pretty boys and the power lifters now what about us athletes?”. Until then, my other question is about the exercise selections. I have made a pretty good (if I do say so myself) athletic pendulum program based off of your recommended outlines in the first article but I’m am confused as to what exercises to use in the different phases of the program. In the structural week(s) I’ve used typically basic movements and stayed away from the olympic movements. After that though I could use some guidance. You have a functional week (80-90%), then a strength-speed, then a speed strength. Would you use power lifting movements during the functional week and then add the olympic lifts during the strength-speed and speed-strength weeks or would you use the olympic lifts through-out? If I have confused you with my bantering question, I’m sorry. I have nearly confused myself. Help me out if you can or if the time and the mood strikes you, just type up an athletic pendulum program. You know, in all that “free time” of yours :-).
Thank you in advance,

Structural week = basic core movements (squat, bench press, military press, barbell rowing, romanian deadlift, shrugs, lunges, etc.) Can include isolation work for weak bodyparts.
Strength week = Squat, bench, deadlift, push press, clean or snatch pull from blocks
Strength-speed week = Power clean from blocks, power snatch from blocks, push jerk, speed bench press, speed squat
Speed-strength week = Power clean from hang, power snatch from hang, jump squat, med ball throws from chest, jump push ups, depth jumps
I like the first question: when will you make a detailed article for an athletic pendulum? Actually, I guess there should be a question before that: will you make an article for athletes? Us, athletes can benefit from such a program.
Yes, actually I’m almost done with the athletic pendulum article.
Christian,
Thanks for the help and getting back to me(us) so promptly. I appreciate the guidance and I am excited for the athletic pedulum article. A friend and I have been anticipating this for a while now. Along with being WestSide followers we are Beast fans.
P.S. It ain’t easy getting a hold of you.
