Has anyone actually ever SEEN a live skunk ape? I haven’t.
Does Bigfoot wear big socks?
Is anybody even listening to me?
“One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do”
C’mon all together now!
"Two can be as bad as one
It’s the loneliest number since the number one
No is the saddest experience you’ll ever know
Yes, it’s the saddest experience you’ll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two"
What’s really freakin’ amazing is that I actually REMEMBERED this much of the lyrics…
But, hey Mister ONE, who’s “probably lower than 12%–more like 6%–” BUT, “I didn’t SAY 6%” - thanks for playing.
One, maybe you could put up your pic since you sound like you are big and ripped. And if you don’t want advice than why ask.
BTW E-C: My Monkey Butler is currently entrenched in what I lovingly deemed a “retox & dehab” program. Following a rash attempt to cleanse his simian bowels of overripe plantains, MBE “accidentally” overdosed on Colon Cleanse. This occurred smackdab in the midst of my daily butter bath, thus the resulting fiasco is one that I’d give three of my left nuts to forget about.
I’m sure you’ll be able to rid his mangy coat of fruit flies at the Maine Event.
Chris Merrow:
I listen and I love you, man.
Nuthin’ but love for you, CM; great observations.
Personally, I spent the day testing cass’ transdermal lard theory on my back deck. Unfortunately, it was a rather hot day here in Maine, and the lard melted, attracting all the seagulls within a 10 mile radius. Between the fumes and gunk that got in my eyes (not to mention the fact that the seagulls were all trying to peck them out), I went blind for close to 7 hours. This certainly made my quad dominant and calves session interesting. I also accidentally consuming an entire bottle of Drain-O with my post-workout meal (I thought it was a bottle of water).
Just imagine, all of this could have been avoided if someone had done a little reading. Pity:)
Congrats, One! You’ve just become the biggest shithead to enter the forums since that heyyet220 guy (or whatever his name was.)
The good news is, “Maureen” has found her soulmate in One.
T-clique (do ya know who ya are?):
Wow, nice attitutes showing up here! But, nice to see that enough of you are like-minded, so at least you can pat each other on the backs for being so witty and agree with each others excuses for treating a newbie like shit. Ha, ha! You guys are a hoot!
Seriously, though, I agree with you on a couple points. If someone posts questions that can be found in the archives, they deserve to be flamed. And if someone has many helpful posts to their credit, they get a pass for acting like an asshole, and we’ll just call it “having fun.” I like that!! (I would flame a lot more myself, but I haven’t posted enough to have earned the right.)
BlueDreamer,
Now, I’m not one to usually call a fellow brother or sister out, but c’mon. Calling One-Dawg a newbie is an absolute insult. First, One-Dawg’s got over 60 posts under his belt. Secondly, he’s been a registered poster since early March (i.e. 3 March 03), which may or may not account for time that he spent posting before the forum adopted its new format. Finally, One-Dawg has already admitted that he has read many, if not all of the articles.
So, whence you take someone’s back, you best be ready for the burden that will accompany that.
Patricia: “But, hey Mister ONE, who’s “probably lower than 12%–more like 6%–” BUT, “I didn’t SAY 6%” - thanks for playing.”
If you don’t read the whole sentence, it won’t make sense. I said, If I used the same scale as the people who post in the photo album and call themselves 6%, I would also be 6% or much lower. And the people you guys consider Gods–If they have been training for more than 5 years and have even done steroids… They could do anything and look like they do.
I’m new to lifting, but I’ve read a lot. I wasn’t looking for articles. I wanted opinions from personal experience. Obviously most people here don’t have many positive experiences when it comes to bodybuilding–most just gain fat and think they’re the shit when they reach 200+.
One, get your ass in the gym and f train.
Stop bad mouthing this thead by the way a-hole it its free with great info.Tell me another site that would gime you free info.
Ken
One,
Your first point is the most hopelessly retarded assertion that I’ve ever encountered. Look around your gym at all the people that have at least five years training under their belts; do they all look good? Secondly, several of the aforementioned contributors have openly declared that they have never touched steroids. I wouldn’t expect you to know that, though; you’re not interested in reading anything (except, of course, beastialist porn magazines, but that’s a whole other thread).
“I’m new to lifting, but I’ve read a lot. I wasn’t looking for articles.”
Uh, hypocrisy is a bitch, eh?
“I wanted opinions from personal experience.”
Your questions sure don’t read like it.
“Obviously most people here don’t have many positive experiences when it comes to bodybuilding–most just gain fat and think they’re the shit when they reach 200+.”
Actually, I think that you’ll find that the overwhelming majority of the people on this forum have had fantastic experiences with bodybuilding, including those on this thread. We’re talking physically, pscyhologically, and socially (e.g. friends and sexual encounters with people rather than barnyard animals).
Patricia has more success in the iron game as a bodybuilder and strongwoman competitor than you can imagine, and a ton of experience to go along with it. You might consider trying to engage in a civilized discussion with her and declaring your openness to learning if you really want to reap the benefits of this forum.
Cass’ photos on the forum show her dedication and success in this lifestyle. Just as impressively, she’s got a ton of knowledge to boot. Search for some old T-Rock photos and you’ll see the original skinny bastard turned badass mofo’ with a barndoor back. I’ve added 70 lbs. in the past three years naturally without having my bodyfat go above 13%.
Incidentally, we’re all currently pursuing Master’s degrees in related fields. Aren’t the correlations among the love of learning, the passion for training, and achieving one’s goals interesting?
TEK’s got a ton of knowledge up his sleeve from his years on the forum and in the gym. Merrow’s a little off the wall, but he’s my ninja (and a certified one at that), so step off, bitch! Cupcake obviously loves the iron game, and is lots of help (and tons of fun) on the forum. And, oh yeah, I dare you to do a search of JasonL’s recent posts. See how much this dude has got strapped around his weight for dips; I bet it’s more than you can deadlift.
In short, this forum isn’t a “joke.” Rather, it’s a brotherhood of people with similar goals and a willingness to help one another. It is, however, based on the premise that you’re willing to do your homework. We wouldn’t come to the gym to train for you, nor would we cook and eat your food (check that, I’ll eat your food). We certainly won’t do your reading for you, either.
“You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit.”
-Paul Chek
(yeah, he’s one of those guys that wrote an article that you should be reading right now).
I think that you’ll find that everyone here is willing to help out, but you’re going to have to meet us halfway.
Eric Cressey:
Bad attempt at humor. "(except, of course, beastialist porn magazines, but that’s a whole other thread). " So unorginal. What are you getting your masters in? It’s really hard to judge someone’s passion for training through the internet. If you set low goals, obviously you can achieve them.
My goal isn’t strength but I don’t think a 160lber with 13% bodyfat will be doing 240+ on weighted dips.
From what I’ve read, it’s a forum where… the regular posters always say the same things… High volume doesn’t work, the people that use it are just genetic freaks–even though the people against high volume are skinny fats or just fatasses. It’s basically a forum where the regular posters can boost their ego’s because in real life, in a real gym–they’re not shit. Judging by the photo forum, the ratio of people that look like they workout (this isn’t even saying they look good) compared to the # of people who don’t look like they workout is 1:10. You can continue to stroke each others ego’s by saying whatever each other says is correct… but you’ll probably just stay looking like skinnyfats.
Well said EC. Can I have your autograph…haha. You’re one bitchin mofo.
One, if you don’t think the regular posters here amount to shit, then why the hell did you seek out their advice in the first place?
The hole you’re digging is becoming increasingly deeper. You’re pretty good with that shovel!
One,
If you dont like it here, than go somewhere else. YOU are the one person who is bringing this forum down, not us. Are you and BigConan brothers or something?
Jeez, I have always told myself that I would NEVER put down anyone on this forum, but damnit you deserve it. Who are you to come on here and insult everyone? The people here on t-mag are probably some of the most knowledgable people in the field and I consider many of the people here in the forum my friends. I have read this entire thread and am dumbfounded that you continue to put down the same people YOU are asking for advice. At first, even I could sense that people were just “kidding around” with you at first and I in no way felt you were being insulted. Have you no sense of humor?? In any case, you come back and start making accusations that everyone here is on steroids or that we all look like shit. Seems pretty hypocritical to me that if that is how you feel about us…that you are asking us for advice.
Regardless, do everyone a favor and go away. We dont need you here if you are going to be a jerk.
I just went back a took a look at your past posts.
If you have read the articles at T-mag, your reading comprehension/retention rate is in the shitter.
You keep asking questions that can be answered by reading the articles mentioned.
Ignorance.
Nothing more.
One,
If you honestly think that JB, Lonnie Lowry, Eric, Timbo, Ko, Patricia, and myself look like skinny fats -or that we are all on steriods of we dont-, then you need to have your head examined.
My advice to you is to leave this forum and go find somewhere else to vent your frustrations with the world upon. No one here will ever help you out again, so dont ever bother asking.
LEAVE NOW! No one is impressed with your immaturity and insecurity.
