Question About Calories

So I’ve been doing a lot of reading on how/when/what to eat. I decided I should probably do a 30% carb, 40% protein, 30% fat diet because I had my blood tested and my fasting glucose was 81 mg/dL. Perhaps someone else can concur on this for me.

So this was decided using the massive eating II guide by John M. Berardi.

Now my real question… besides wanting concurrence on the moderate sensitivity to glucose is… is that 30% of my calories or grams?

IOW… 1 gram of fat is more calories than 1 gram of carb/protein… So it is 30/40% of what exactly?
Thanks!

If you’re doing 30% carbs, 40% protein, and 30% fat, then it is 30% of the total calories are carbs, 40% of the total calories are protein, and 30% of the total calories are fat. One gram of fat is nine calories. One gram of carbs and protein is four calories.

Yeah, it’s % of calories.

OK… thanks guys I was pretty sure that was the case but just wanted to make sure.

Also, can someone confirm that I fall under the moderately sensitive type for my fasted glucose level?

I had the doctor run a thorough test on my blood and what i posted above was in the information he gave back to me.
This was after fasting for 12 hours.
