Just wondering if you take a PWO drink (such as Surge) even after cardio workouts, or do you just take it after lifting workouts? And if not, or if so, why?

Just wondering if you take a PWO drink (such as Surge) even after cardio workouts, or do you just take it after lifting workouts? And if not, or if so, why?
I usually just take in a protein shake after cardio, no carbs. However, I will take in a carb/protein shake after intense cardio like sprints.
