Pussified Captain Marvel

Jake Gyllenhal to play Captain Marvel. Just fucking wonderful. I wonder if he’ll get “hyooge” for the role like Tobi McGuire did for Spider Man, and whatever the hell his name is did for Superman.

Comments?>

I don’t know. Did you see when he hosted SNL? He isn’t exactly small. Here is a screencap. I know using a picture of him in drag works against my point, but it’s Saturday Night Live and he is doing the musical number from Dreamgirls.

I’m more worried how he will look as a blonde. He can’t be any worse than the last guy to play Capitan America.

‘Pussified Captain Marvel’

Does Captain look like this?

The link indicated Shazam! It’s a given we were talking about DC.

BTW what the fuck is up with Marvel and Captain Marvel, so they killed the original off and then his son goes insane and then gets cured but is really still insane and then the Thunderbolts end up destroying him now his sister (which happened when he went insane) is now the new Captain Marvel…ugh.

The original died of cancer, since then its been like 2 re-incarnations and theres a new one coming.
but the link said shazam so yes they are talking about the dc one and no,its not blonde.

And now he’s back as the jailor of the negative zone non-registered.
The reason why Marvel did Capt. Marvel was because the copyright on the name.

Just like you can’t copyright the opposite gender of your character, spider-woman, power-girl, wonderman.

HAHAHAHA, that is sad. I totally (mis)read Captain America. What makes it worse, is I know better. I just finished reading the 90’s The Power of Shazam! am collecting Jeff Smith’s relaunch.

Sorry, everybody.

…and you call yourself a nerd.

Pffffft.

Spiderman wasn’t supposed to be big… he was a supposed to look like a skinny weakling nerd. I’d say he pulled it off pretty well.

I’m sure anyone can find a pic of spiderman looking huge, but look at the original comics. Pretty small guy.

I understand why you should hate smaller actors getting roles for large superheroes, but I never understood the spiderman complaint.

There wouldn’t have been a Spiderman complaint if the trend hadn’t already been set for several action stars to have little to no muscle mass. Aside from the now classic Die Hard movies, most action movies with a main star doing everything involved larger actors until suddenly, everyone weighed under 160lbs.

I think that may be changing a little in the future though. Audiences have always responded to muscle on screen. Only recently has there been such a huge backlash to it. It also explains why some people on this site actually believe steroids are needed to look like the guys in 300. It shows that people aren’t even trying very hard in the gym anymore and that they really believe looking built is impossible without drugs.

Spiderman just got caught up in the middle of it. I mean, look at Superman. the guy SUCKED in that role but people still actually stated they liked it. I can only ask what it was that they liked because his acting sucked, the story sucked and he just didn’t look like Superman.

At least Christopher Reeves had the overall facial look and stature for it. He was also “big” for the time the first movie came out considering Rambo was thought to be He-man. The new guy looked weak as all hell.

So what if he’s playing Billy Batson, Captain Marvel’s adolescent alter ego? They’ll find a big guy to play Captain Marvel. Oh wait . . .

???

You’re kidding, right?

Man, I just listened to TC’s maxout Radio interview with him telling that he’s gonna come back to a more ‘bodybuilding’ T-Nation. Hope he makes it quick before it gets turned into foo-foo training Nation

I couldn’t believe I was on the same site with a few of those responses. The guys were in good shape but I didn’t see one person in the whole movie that made me think they were so hyper-muscular that it needed chemical assistance. It also implies that there are quite a few people on this forum who you could pass on the street and never know they lifted regularly.

I’m glad this site is going back to what started it.
