dHuge’s plan is pretty solid. Use it as a base. jj
once u do this u will be impressed fat will not be an issue just up ur reps lift light weights if u dont wanna bulk u will burn fat at the same time as making muscle but still increase ur weights but slowly

No offense, but why are “once obese” guys jumping in this thread emphasizing how this skinny kid needs to worry about appetite suppressants and regular cardio? Why would that be his primary, secondary or tertiary concern right now…at all?
Part of it letting him know he can be successful. Being the kid that used to get stuffed into lockers, I now seriously kick butt. He can too.
For fat people (BTDT) being hungry is a weird sensation. A lot of times the unfamiliarity of it is daunting and they feel like they ought to avoid it. I was simply stating that he won’t experience that if he is working out correctly – he’ll eat like a horse and grow.
As for cardio, obese people usually have a variety of circulation problems and issues with amping up their metabolism. They aren’t used to working at a high level and consequently don’t train at one. Running is a simple way to fix that since he’s doing it already.
Why not scale back the frequency and amp up the intensity? Look at TC’s post on sprinting today. Good stuff. I suggested a more modest approach but TC is TC for a reason…

As I was reading I literally put my head down and said “O My God” then I scroll and someone said it.
to help. at your age if you don’t want to gain muscle don’t lift however thats pretty dumb in the long or even short run. At your age if you actually follow through with all your cardio the you will lose BF% if your diet does not suck too bad, flame me if I’m wrong.
But if your idea is to not have a flabby chest or body then you should gain some LBM shredding up at your weight puts oyu in the starvation camp survivor look your’ll be about 125~135lb’s at 5’7" (didn’t wuote think that’ll be about right on the numbers. which is pretty damn small.
however if you actually gained a bit of LBM (muscle) then you could actually look healthy in clothes and still look good Nekid. just a thought, but massive cardio adn starvation are not always the ideal solutions.
(edit) didn’t really see how frickin long this thread had gotten just read the OP then posted. (/edit)

This kid isn’t obese. What are you talking about? This kid is like most kids walking around today, out of shape and looking for a fast route to looking like a magazne cover model.
He needs to get in a gym and eat enough to gain some muscular body weight, not become afraid to eat enough because “once obese” people jumped on a thread and made it seem like obesity is just around the corner.

You don’t have to “bulk up”, just eat according to Berardi’s 7 Habits, lift 3-4 days a week and do some cardio.
The basics are the basics for a reason.

What would you call what he’d be doing if he did this?
This is plain insanity I say!
Several people have given great suggestions. It’s quite simple, if you try to lose weight when you are already skinny, you will still be skinny-fat, just a smaller skinny/fat.
No one is telling you to bulk to 250. They’re telling you to eat healthy and lift weights. Do not think for a second that you will just blow up like nitro. Getting huge takes a lot of work. Doing push ups and abs is not going to make you into a mass monster. However, eating right and lifting will put some decent muscle on you.
So how does that equal less fat on your chest? Well, the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism is. The more intense the workout (lifting, sprinting) the more calories you burn in the HOURS after the workout. Look up EPOC in the search function.
Bottom line is that you want to do an INSANE amount of cardio (I stopped counting at 25hrs/week) and do some push ups in the hope that you can spot reduce. Well, you can’t. Crunches will not give you a 6 pack. Low bodyfat will. More muscle will burn more fat. Less fat will give you more defintion.
And one more thing…I know that there’s prob a strong drive to look good for the girls…but believe me, they DO NOT like a guy who is ripped at a whopping 125lbs. Most girls do not like to weigh more than their bf’s.
