How many can you actually do? With proper form. Chest to the floor and lock out arms. No more than a 2-3 second rest between reps.
And minimal hip sagging etc.
I was only able to do 40. I am 39 years old. I was surprised was so few but I think when I was younger and hit 60 or 70 I probably want doing chest to floor and locking out which makes it MUCH harder.
I made sure that I hit 40 as I read that article that said that reduced later life mortality risk lol.
Iām 50, and can do 60+ but Iām with very good at calisthenics and have worked hard for decades at them. I can also do 30 pull ups and can run a 6:00 mile. If you can do 40 with proper form, thatās very good and certainly fine unless you have specific calisthenics goals.
Iām 61 years old and I can do 40 pretty strict push ups (I also read the article about doing 40 push ups). My goal is to eventually be able to do 61 push ups.
Lately though, I have been doing slow divebomber push ups.
