Push/Pull/Legs Split

Will this be a good place to start if I’m looking at a hybrid between size and strength for rugby?

Ashley Jones’ articles over on elitefts seem like a pretty solid read for you.

That one looks like a full body routine rather than a 3 day split.

To the OP I say just do it and see how it works for you, its good for size/strength and being only 3 days it leaves room for other activities.

I do push-pull-legs myself and I like it a lot. I do 5 days a week so every 3rd week one of the three gets one day only (wednesday).

The best part about this spilt is that you avoid overtraining muscles such as shoulders and triceps that are involved in any pressing movements. My elbows and wrists appreciate me doing this split

Yeah, I know. There are multiple plans there, some broken down by position, others for off-season. Although not exactly what he was looking for, the OP would probably be able to draw some ideas regarding exercise selection, rep range, etc. for rugby. Just because he doesn’t want to follow the program exactly doesn’t mean that there is not valuable information to be gained from the articles.
