Does anyone know whatever happen to some of the bodybuilders, besides Arnold, that were in Pumping Iron?
i know mike katz trains, and i think owns the same gym, in the branford area of CT.
Rent the 25th Anniversary Special Edition of the movie. In the bonus features, there is a short film with interviews of the bodybuilders in the early 2000s.

What he said!..Interesting to see the heroes vs. the geeks, even Arnold kinda’ freaks out when he sees how many of the boys are still buff, especially when he sees Big Louie…
It’s good to hear most are still around!
One of my boys (fellow pro wrestler) saw Lou at a ComicCon they were both working a few years back. Said he was still HUGE. Then, he humped him. Oy…You know who you are…

What was cool was this was after Arnold had surgery and was a little out of shape and Lou flexed adn almost hit him with his arm
Mike Katz retired from teaching a few years ago and owns gyms in Branford and Chesire CT along with his partner, Jerry Mastroangelo. Interestingly, Jerry was the target of a hired assasin several years ago and received 5 shots in the stomach.
They caught the shooter in Florida who was supposedly hired by a competing gym owner in Milford, CT who, at one time, had been part of the Katz partnership. Mike still has his massive chest but has put on a bit around the middle.
He remains married to his high school sweetheart and is still one of the nicest guys I ever met. Jerry, on the other hand… A strange partnership.

Katz is an IFBB judge as well.
Franco is a chiropactor now.
Ken Waller still works for Golds, if you notice in the movie he is working behind the counter when Arnold comes in. I guess he has been a huge part in the sales of Gold’s Gym apparel.
My ex-girlfriend bought me the anniversary edition, it is great.
It goes into great detail about who is doing what today.
It also has a great bonus feature of behind the scenes footage of how they shot the movie. Really, really cool stuff.

In that film, Ken had the physique that I would aspire to. Not if Zane had been in the film though…[/quote]
I aspire to the MASH actor’s physique…“I just want to, you know, like get the blood moving…you know?”

Yes, he is Dr. Franco now, he also starred in some movies back home, and he and Arnold are still best friends.

Does anybody know why Zane didnt have more of a role in the film, i mean, wasnt he training at Gold’s at the time? Did he just not fit into a character that they wanted ?

No, this has been discussed before, but i understand if ya didnt know already.
He had valve replacement because of a congenital heart defect, the same problem that ended up killing his mother. He had known about it for a while.
