This has probably been posted before…but if not…
Pretty hilarious.

STAAAAP IT, IM NOT UGLY IM BEAUTIFUL THIS IS WHAT YOURE SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
I hope he never runs for public office. That’d ruin his carrer if anyone ever found it!
(seriously, that was funny. What’s that from?)
that wasn’t that funny
While I don’t advocate violence against women…
Bitch got what she deserved!
His acting has gotten better…
Maybe not…
Been posted ad-nauseum…F’crissake, Arnold was playing a psycho Army-Deserter-bodybuilder and this clip is out of context, in fact 2 things about this episode of “Streets of San Francisco”(Michael Douglas & Karl Malden):…1)Not so “funny” is the blatant anti-Bodybuilder discrimination rampant in the episode, which was prevalent at the time, lots of nasty things are said and implied in the episode, and they got away with it: The so-called “golden age of bodybuilding” is nostalgic mythology with rose colored glasses.
If you watch the entire episode, you will realize how hard these guys had it back then being big. Go to the video about Dave Draper I have posted on my page for his take on how it was back then and you will realize how easy you have it by comparison, Pal…
2)On the positive side, there is a simulated bodybuilding contest in the episode that features some of the greats of the era in top shape, including Robby Robinson and Frank Zane, which makes this a great time capsule of the good, bad & ugly of 1970’s bodybuilding and the attitudes surrounding it, some of which we have to deal with even today…Context, Gentlemen, CONTEXT…

Yes, I was trying to be funny (didn’t work I guess!). I don’t think anyone over 10 years old doesn’t know he’s the Gov.
Plus, he can’t be elected President… Wasn’t born here.

Yup. There will soon be a day when no one will remember his greatness from seeing him when he was relevant like we’ve had the good fortune to.
Thinking about stuff like that depresses me a little.

I know…just like I’m sure people used to rave about Eugene Sandow and now we just remember him as a trophy. Even today most new to bodybuilding don’t even know who lee haney is. They just know the bodybuilders at the present.
We should make a thread in the Alpha and title it “Remembering our Heroes” It will be a list with pics of all those that were once great and no longer compete. Newest edition would be Ronnie Coleman, know what I mean? Almost like a hall of fame but they have to be retired…

Yeah! They really should have a hall of heroes type thread for retired bodybuilders. Dorian Yates should be in there too, because most people I know have never even heard of the guy.
That sounds great!
And Yes, Yates is MY first pick. He played a very fundamental role in my early years (Mike Mentzer and Arthur Jones before him) and thank God, he’s my role model again.
I do so much better on a mix of Yates and Mentzer than I do Arnold-type training, always have. But all those pinoeers and of course guys like Saxon and Calvert et al. deserve a place here too.
Only Lou is a worse bodybuilder-actor. His Hercules movie was brutal, but I still love him <3
