Pulling Muscle, Become Chronic?

I pulled my upper back a couple weeks ago (about three I think), and I’ve pulled it twice more since then. It was all in different places though. The first time was on the left side of my back, then second time was on the right side but lower, and this time upper on the right side. Should I take out shrugs for a while?

that means u r not very fit and u were exerting too much force or doing too much than ur muscle in the current condition can handle. u should start off with some good stretches, warm up and finish off with stretches.

I heard that stretching before leads to injuryies so I only stretch afterwards.

And I started doing warm up sets recently, then I make my way up to the weight I use.

Also, my muscle didn’t get injured while I was working out. I worked out yesterday, then today I just turned my head and the muscle pulled.

u stretch and wait for 10minutes before u start working out, theres a lag time. u ever notice all the pain and soreness come after u wake up the day after. so u did alot of damage to ur muscle the day before. still i dont understand how turning ur head makes ur back muscle pull, r u talking about ur traps or back of the neck, what back exercise were u doing?

I thought soreness only comes when you have lactic acid buildup in your muscles.

Yeah, I meant traps. I’m not sure how the traps break down though so I just said upper back.

The muscle I pulled today wasn’t my traps I don’t think actually. It was on the back of my neck at the top.

Yesterday was the first time I did an actual back work out so my entire back was pretty sore today. The only thing I did that really targeted my traps was shrugs.

are you doing warm up sets to well warm up prior to the work sets
