I’ve pulled a muscle in my neck. It hurts when I tilt left or look up, and I can feel it pretty much whenever I move my neck. I’m currently icing it, but any other advice, as neck muscles are always awkward to rest or compress?
Thanks
no problem, thanks for sharing.
I’ve always had problems with my neck muscles, takes 4-7 days usually to completely heal for me it seems

This happened to me about a week ago. It’s probably just a sprained trap/sternocleidomastoid. I popped a handful of Advil and just used a bit of heat. Try to not move it quickly for about 4 days and you’ll be fine. Oh and just take a couple of days off from the gym. I was back in there after a 3 day rest and it hasn’t flared back up.
Could be an allingment problem .I learned from a doctor to press along side of your neck with two fingers, basically pushing the vertebrates back in place. Its pretty easy to do and works for me.
That sounds interesting, as my neck has been cracking (like your knuckles do) a hell of a lot more today than usual. How do you do this realignment thing?

You could see a chiro? I’ve never gone to one so I can’t comment but many people swear by them.
Try a chiro, but find a reputable one, look for a doc who has some type of background working with lifters/athletes. Chiros are good for joint restriction/misalignment issues but since most issues are more than just the joint or the muscles, you might look for someone certified in Active Release Technique to address the muscular side of things. A chiro certified in both is the best of both worlds.
