Public Humiliation Be Damned

^ What’s up? You butt called me last week, two minutes worth.

My phone is jacked up. It keeps sending empty texts to people on my contacts list and to random numbers.

We put in an offer on a HUD home and they accepted it, but getting all the paperwork just right for the government is a huge pain in the ass. I’ve spent the last week on the phone with or sitting in a realtor’s office 90% of the time.

How was vacation?

Week 8 Monday

Bench: 225x5 255x5 275x5 295x5 225x6

Inc. Dumbbell Press: 35x20 35x16

Incline Tate Press: 50x8 50x8

Vbar Pushdowns: 90x10 90x10

Rotator cuff work.

It went well, I drove 1060 miles straight on Saturday to get home, my fucking upper back and shoulder were killing me. Was fun with the grandkid, miss Greg though, kind of bummed me out.

Week 8 Tuesday

Dead: worked up to 405 (still can’t find my belt)

Seated Leg Curls: 145x8 145x8

Called it.

Had the most painful lower back pump I’ve ever felt after warming up on the deads. Could barely bend over to pick up my keys when I was done.

How is the back today?

Man, the back was all good an hour after lifting. It wasn’t an injury, just a serious pump. I think it’s mainly because of this huge gut I’m carrying around. No belt and some warmup deadlifts just blew up the lower back.

Drove to Chicago and back today to put Drew on the plane to San Antonio. He’s gonna spend some time with my mom and Jen, then go down to Corpus and stay with some friends that lived down the street from us.

Change of subject, but I think with the TRT my strength is growing faster than my joints can handle. I did 295x5 on bench Monday with no problem (that’s 8 weeks after starting back), but my elbows, wrists, and shoulders are screaming at me. I think I’m going to have to make some kind of change soon. Higher reps just sounds painful to my joints, so I’m thinking maybe eight or ten sets of three with shorter rest periods. I don’t know. I’m due to change up my workouts next week anyway, so any thoughts are appreciated.

Shit man have you seen my log today? We are on page two of the long discussion of being old and broken down.

Stop benching maybe? Go to DB’s or just the hammer strength? Maybe take a 2 month and just work on the gut and lower back?

I try to dumbbell bench after I normal bench. It kills my shoulder. I just do 35lbs x two sets of about 20.

Hammer Strength is fine, but I think it wouldn’t help address the issues that are there. It isolates everything so much, that I don’t think it would help strengthen the weak points. I feel like I’d spend two months on doing HS and then have the exact same issues. I don’t want to be stuck on HS for the rest of my life. It’s dull and boring. I need some type of shoulder rehab program. Not your Klingon stick treatment, either. I’m too big a pussy not cry.

I’m definitely making the gut/lower back my top priorities in the weeks to come.

Hey but the Klingon treatment works a little bit. I already called you about this just had to make a comment on the Klingon treatment.

Week 8 Thursday

Just a bunch of light weight shoulder stuff.

Week 9 Monday

Started this workout with the YTWL shoulder complex/warmup in the Mobility sticky. Holy crap, I should have started doing that sooner. My shoulder felt 100% better while benching today.

Bench: 225x5 255x5 285x5 305x5 225x10

Bent over bar row: 135x10 185x6 185x6 185x6

Incline Dumbbell Press: 35x20 35x20 (again, shoulder felt great)

Cybex Seated Row: 9x15 9x15

Incline Tate Press: 50x8 50x8 50x8

Saxon Side Bends: 10x12 10x12 10x12

Serratus Crunch: 12 12 10

45degree back raise: 10 10

Starting the Warrior Diet today. Downloaded the book and read most of it over the weekend. I workout in the AM so I went and bought a bunch of BCAAs to take post workout.

What does the Warrior diet consist of?

It works for me, because I have control issues. It’s easier for me to eat in the evening until I’m full than to eat little, unsatisfying meals all day.

Yep and fuck I have no time to eat 6 meals a day. A lot of my days are out of the office or in meetings all day. Cant tell CEO’s or HR guys, time out, got to go eat a steak be right back.

305 for 5 on bench is impressive.

Nice work.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I couldn’t squat that right now.
