Public (Gym) Enemy #1

Damn I posted that last one from my Iphone. I swear I am not that stupid.

It’s everywhere the same. Not only in powerlifting but in every other aspect of life. You have to stop to worry about that crap. People will critize everything you do. Especially if you’re more successfull than them. Fuck them and their opinion and do what you like.

I went to an anyrime fitness in Flower Mound TX today because i got sent up there for work. I was planning on doing some deadlifts, barbell rows, shrugs and romanian deads if my lower back would permit but when i walked in the fym THEY DID NOT HAVE A BAR!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME PEOPLE?! having a gym with no bar is like having a car with no wheels! WHAT THE FUCK!? i asked the 120lbs pencil neck trainer if they had a bar somewhere and he talked down to me like i was some brutish meathead to which i replied “maybe you should change your sign to Curves, that way i would have known that this gym was for pussies and i wouldnt have come in to begin with!”.

What I really don’t get is this. When the biggest and strongest guy who uses the gym never touches machines and rarely uses dumbbells, wouldn’t you eventually catch on and ask yourself, hmm, how did they get there?

What y’all don’t seem to realize is that most gyms are not in it to make people stronger or fit or anything. They are there to simply make money. They are no different than any other business. They often hope and prey, spelled that was intentionally btw, because they hope that all those fat ass “new years resolutionist” come and join,. maybe drop 6 mo-1 year cash for a “deal” on membership dues and only show up for a week or two. Or better yet the young dudes who are there to work on their hawt abz and shit… they go a month or to, get a tan, run game on chicks and get ready for summer.

REAL lifters typically don’t make gyms money because they quit too often. Too many dudes stop going because they don’t like the music, the doosh bags there, the old nekkid guy in the locker room drying his balls with the hand dryer etc… Sadly it’s the “soccer moms” that make gyms money. They go there to escape from the kids and shit and to get in shape.

Is this accurate all the time, nope and I’m not saying it is but more often than not this is the case. I’ve known two guys who have owned gyms, They have both told me this same shit at separate times.

so much hate for fraternities. so mad.

people at my gym have done stupid things. life went on.

the owner of the gym is using the money from the casual gym goers to upgrade and repair the building and instal (fingers crossed) a working a/c machine.

it all works out. who knew.

NICE! I wish the guy who owns my home gym would add an A/C to the garage…

I go to a 24hour fitness a block from my apartment. Its pretty well outfitted.

Havent had a problem with anyone at the gym. People are pretty decent.

Most of the time you cant get at the squat rack right away.

They got some 30x30ft training room on the side, sometimes ill want to flip this tire around and use thier fun implements but the room will be jammed with people laying on the floor doing nonsensical crap.

I’ve looked around at other places though, this commercial gym is probably the best in the county, and its 2 minutes from where i live. Cant beat that.

my gym has one squat rack and in around 8 years I have had to wait maybe 3 times to use it.

Just wait till you become a beast, give it time and then no-one will talk to you or look you in the eye…

and it does my headwonders to see so many people these days do deads, back when I started NO ONE did them and I mean NO ONE, business men doing sets of deads with 80kgs, in perfect form, I love it

just be patient

Yeah don’t get me wrong I just put off dental surgery to avoid missing training for the meet. I’m in it for the long haul.

I want to stop and thank you all for reminding me I’m not alone and that other people love the sport too.

During squats today some guy came up behind me to spot. Had to tell him three damn times to go away. I have safety bars for a reason and no how to handle a failed lift.

Some people man…

Meanwhile next to me this diced to the socks twig was benching 185ish down about half way while an even smaller guy rowed the weight…they did about 15 sets of chest work in the 40 minutes I was in there.
