protein in egg whites

I’ve always thought that all of the protein in an egg was contained in the white, while all the fat was in the yokes. The other day I read that half of the protein content is in the yolks. Have I been a half-the-protein -that-I-thought-I- was-eatin’-moron?
If it is the case- that the yolk has some protein, is it half, quarter, ect?
Thanks for the help, and the generous lack of flames for me being a complete idiot.

Egg = 6-7g P, 1g C, 4.5g F

White = 3-4g P, 0 C, 0 F

Yolk = 3g P, 1g C, 4.5g F

dude you’re not alone. Thanks for the info. I’m gonna have a word with my former bio teacher about this.

www.foodcount.com has nutritional info on just about everything, it is a great site I use it in my food log.
They also have a pay service where you can keep your food log on line with them, I haven’t tried that but maybe people that travel would find that useful.

I recommend eating the whole egg, not just for protein, but the other important nutritional factors are in the yolk. Do not be scared away from whole eggs by the same govt. that advocated high carbs.
