43? You’re not old enough to date my sister.
Happy Birthday, Joe.

Calculus sucks…but a hearty happy Birthday Joe…in the past year you have made tremendous strides forward with your lifts…its been a pleasure to follow along. Hope you have an awesome day and a better night!!!
Thanks guys, I had hoped to have video of the pretty girls, well and boys for the ladies but alas it was not to be. You’ll have to settle for crappy bench pressing vids.

I know thats a lot of bench videos but since it’s never this empty that I can get bench vids I thought I’d go nuts.
I didn’t see anything crappy there. Bummer there was no birdlife, but that was pretty good-looking benching.
245 looked really easy for you.
Yeah, calculus. The only way I got a high enough grade in Calculus was to do some shady, underhanded things. I’m the wrong person to help!
Happy b-day Joe! That red belt is super-fly ![]()
save me some pie plz.
once upon a time I did some heavy duty calculus and beyond, but, alas, it has been years since I’ve done any serious work. Most of my work over the last 10 years has been looking over others shoulders or “managing” a group, so I’m useless now.
oh - I forgot, I also excelled at writing technical fluff into coherent proposals that were promptly overpriced and lost or had the program canceled.
Happy birthday, Joe. I hope this year is one of your best yet. I enjoy your log and all the fun you infuse into this forum.
Happy Birthday Joe.
That’s some nice looking bench’in. Buy some inzer elbow sleeves for a birthday treat. If you don’t need em now, you will soon. Yer tendons will thank you.
Happy birthday Joe. May your back turn out to be good.
Gawd, you’re old.
The 245 looked really easy. Just imagine how well you’ll do when you add leg drive
j/k kind of. To me it didn’t look like you were using your legs but since I’m not exactly queen of the bench, I could be wrong.
I hope you had a great birthday and someone gave you bar clips.

No you are right, I get 0 leg drive. I understand the concept but I never can quite figure out how to make it happen. Its like I have some sort of brina/body disconnect.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Last night after I ate half my apple pie I sort of pondered some things as I sat immobile in a sugar coma. One thing I realized is that I hadn’t been giving a few things my best effort. Not that I had been just laying arround but that I hadn’t pushed them like I’m capable of and that lifting was one of them.
So here’s hoping I’m able to get a fair bit more out of 43 than I did out of 42.
Squats today, since I’m leaving the end of next week for a few days I have to get all of next weeks lifting in as well this week and the first of next week. So after three days of lifting I need to lift five out of the next seven days. Aided and abetted by my friend the calorie, of course.

Thats really odd.

The same thing happened on my log. It’s probably my computer. Either that or I’m so fucking wise and insightful, my words bore repeating.

I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but that’s a delicious double entendre right there. I’m going to steal it for a boring day.
