Sat. I’m going to go to the park and play using a combinatin of my farmer’s walk bars, my seld, and the monkey bars. Nothing massive, just working up a good sweat and then I’ll go out for beakfast. A little bit of yard work and a lot of college football with friends. probably a long walk in the sun too.

Sunday will be sleeping in, meeting for brunch, and then flag football. At some point I’ll take an hour and sit down with The Economist and some English Breakfast tea and chill for a bit.

Not really thrilling but a good weekend.
I’m liking that weekend! Great trainning around your injury
Thanks, I’ve added grilling on Sat to the list and I might whip up some fried chicken on Sunday if things go my way.
i need to plan my food for the weekend. Thanks for the reminder. I need to gain some lbs.
Damn you, I need to lose about 25lbs…
Doesn’t that put you at about 165? You are bitchin strong for a 165lber.

I’ve been at the same weight for a few months and it’s all down to eating. My vanity demands I get over 200, lol
Right now I’m a hair under 190 but I’m seriously thinking about dropping back down to 165 for competing.

You really don’t want to do that. You will lose too much strength. You and I need to weigh 215 to start being awesome.

How tall are you, Joe?

If you’re a mutant, I’ve the same gene. My belly gets fat without even adding any weight.

that weekend sounds sweet, hope you’re enjoying it.

Sat. Odd GPP Training

4 40 yard sprints.

4 40 yard sprints w/sled+25lbs

4 up and backs on the monkey bars

.5 mile walk w/seld+25lbs and farmer’s walk bars

.5 mile walk w/famer’s walk bars.

This was kind of fun.

Joe- Great training…that sounds like a great day!

Joe, looks fun. I suspect that I would find it anything but, though. Not quite built for running.
Great work.

Great work, Joe.

I’m not sure what to say about the weight. I’m 5’10", pushing 240, and trying to tell myself I’m not toooo fat. Even still, 165 seems pretty light to me. I think you would have to lose some lean mass to get down that far.

Where did you do this? Did you put a show on for the neighbors, again?

5’11" and you’re thinking about the 165 class? That’s pretty lean. Can’t imagine it will help your strength to cut. But it’s that whole strength-to-weight ratio thingy. It will be interesting to see if you can [roughly] maintain your numbers if you decide to cut weight.

Yo People. I’m 63 and have been working out w/my free weight set from Weider 20 years now. Thank God I have a tough job, and can still rise to the oocasion.

I think he’ll actually get a better strength to weight ratio being 20 lbs heavier, as would I. There’s a sweet spot for s2w ratio that start’s right about there. It’s the beginning of the Continuum of Awesomeness that starts at 3lbs of bodyweight per inch of height.

This idea is not mine, it comes from big guys who write about this stuff.

Great! 12 more lbs and I get to start my journey of Awesome! Actually, the number from the 3 lbs/ inch formula is about where I thought I would need to be. Neato.

Monkey bars are always good times. That sounds like a great conditioning workout.

Or we’re both doing it wrong but I’m not sure what would be right at thsi point.
