Seriously…Nice work

The hell with 5/3/1 Joe…you have your own cult!!! How you liking the bodybuilder type training? Lots of volume going on.

Right now I’m not sure how I like it.

I don’t get the big rush like when you hit a heavy pull and frankly its way more exhausting than 5/3/1 but strangely I recover faster from it. It would be better, both mentally and lift wise if I didn’t have to do so much machine work because I have to fight for space with guys who make me look massive at 5’ 11" 190. If front squats go okay this week I am going to add in some low rep light weight back squats next week and see how it goes.

But I’m greatful that I can still do something while I figure out what the hell is going on and maybe I can get a bit of hypertrophy going while I wait for my back to get discombobulated.

If I had to guess about the faster recovery, I’d say that repping hard at isolation excercises is less taxing on your CNS than repping hard at a complex exercise like deads.

Of course, this “not quite 5/3/1” thing has to stop.

If the low back god’s are kind I will be back to the one true faith soon enough.

Okay its blurry and from a cell phone but it shows my lack of bicep development.

never let it be said I back down from a challenge.

Now losing one is a different matter.

I definitly see a yummy bicep Joe, and some poppin shoulder. Don’t put yourself down man. And thanks for stepping up to the challenge in good fun.

now wonders what else we could get Joe to do? hmmm

The stories I could tell that started with your quote…

Uppper Body #2

Incline BB bench

8x135, 8x155, 4x165, 2x179, 8x135

SS with

Wide Grip Pull ups

5,5,5,5,4

DB Bench Press

10x65
10x70
10x75

SS with Hammer Strength Low Row

10x90/side
10x100/side
10x110/side

Pec Dec

12x145
12x145
12x145

SS with

LF Seated Row

12x100
12x100
12x100

LF Lat Raise

12x65
12x65
12x65

Yet again that sucked a lot. Its really exhausting right when its over.

That’s Joe for ya. Says he has no bicep, and then shows up with a hyuge bicep. Cute picture!

N., I also wonder about this. Boyz love to show off for girlz. Some girlz love to show off for boyz. Nothing really has changed since the playground.

To make it suck less, what if you did each movement similar to what you did for incline BB. Ramp the weight up, drop reps and then back off the weight and get some reps in? Less fatiguing and you will be fresher for your top set.

Lookin good, Joe. I knew you were a bodybuilder at heart.

Damn - Joe’s got guns!

Where are them Abs?
Remember, you are represent’in us old guys down at the Uni gym.

Anytime.

Now if he said something like ‘no butt’ I would have to agree. But I doubt you will get picture out of him for that :stuck_out_tongue:

Joe, what was the inspiration for this particular template?

besides apostasy?

Thats true, boys learn to peacock early for girls.
