Just got through catching up. With all the UAB med stuff you’d think there’d be some ART people. And a 6 week wait. Since you hoping it may be self correcting the wait may be a good thing. Step away from the lower back work for a while. Lots of other stuff to do. Six weeks is a lot better than hurting it to the point you get laid up for a lot longer.

Boo on six weeks. That’ll be hard given your love of deadlifting. Look at it as an opportunity to experiment with other things.
I know! Couldn’t it be something like Over Head Pressing that I couldn’t do?
I’m going to try doing the brotard routine. Shit tons of volume and lots of isolation stuff. If I’m lucky my chest and arms will explode so no one can see how sad my legs are.

This is what I keep telling my self. I’ve had thre days of rest and it feels a bit better so thats an encouraging sign. I’m pissed I won’t pull 455 by year end though.

Maybe you just need a break. I’ve found that my ART guy can do wonders with my lower back. So sorry you don’t have that available to you.
How often do you see your ART guy? I found a guy in Huntsville and thats about 2 hours away which I could do every month or so.
I don’t see him regularly like many people do with a chiro. I see him when I have specific pain or an injury that doesn’t work itself out in a reasonable amount of time. I’ve thrown my back out twice lifting (think the three-point turn plus crawling up the wall to get out of bed). And he was able to stop the spasms and relieve the pain on the table. He’s also worked my one stubborn hammie and, of course, my shoulder. Last time I saw him (last March), he worked on my shoulder for two minutes and told me to see an orthopedist. He’s very good and explains everything in great detail with diagrams because, well, I’m like that and he knows to expect it.
I had seen another ART guy a few times before him but was wildly unimpressed. I’m sure there’s varying quality and talent.

Oh I’ve done that three point turn thing a couple of times though not in a few years. I’m going to give this guy a try at some point and see. Thanks for all the info.
How do you like that HS Decline Press? The new gym I go to has the seated press and the incline press. I can actually incline press much more than the seated press.
They own the lying-down flat press that my other gym had (bought it at foreclosure auction) it’s just not out on the floor yet. I love that machine.

The HS Decline is a pretty nice machine, but it seems to hit my tris really hard and I find that I have to fiddle with the seat set up more than I have to do with other HS machines.
That flat press machine sounds very interesting, sadly we don’t have one or I’d use the hell out of it.
