Pretty Little Hate Machine

don’t we all? as far as I know you can have it all just not at the same time. focusing 6 month on strength gains while eating quality foods and then leaning down seems to work for many.

Thats my general plan for the future. I’d like to be hot one more time before old age crushes me. Wow that sounded really vain…

Nothing wrong with being a little vain brother! Truth be told that is why 99% of all lifters started. They just branched out into other things as they got older. Just eat clean, cut your total K cals just below maint, and keep doing what you are doing. Good work!

Joe,as far as I can tell you never stopped being hot.Thats what I keep telling myself.

you will always be the hot joe to me, too.

I have been doing front squats for awhile, and they help my back and mental fortitude. I don’t think they’ve done anything to move my squat up.

The thing that most helped my squat was good mornings. Throw them in bbb style after squats, 5x10. i will be returning to them soon.

For me too you will always be the hot Joe. There may be a song in there some where… “Hoooooot Joe”. In my head it was the song “Hoooot pockets”.

I think you 're right in that a lot of us started lifting for vanity. When I hit my early 40’s I discovered my ass was so flat it looked like I was spanked with a shovel. I ventured into the gym for the very first time in my life in my early 40’s in search of an ass. I found it and I also found a lifestyle that I love.

I’ve never pretended I wasn’t vain despite not having a reason to be.

Good looking Deads Joe, they just keep going up and up. Nice PR.

That co-ed college gym is doing good things for ya. I’m jealous.

I think I’m going to drop ten pounds in September to get my mind right and then get right bacjk to it.

Thanks dude, DL’s seem to be the one bright spot around here.

I think I’m going to add those back in on Squat day. Doing them on DL day was a bit much.

Not my best day.

hey if there’s anything I learn from T-Nation in the past 5 years is the EVERYONE gets those days and kudos for showing up and moving. Your body’s getting ready to kick ass next time is all.

Lose 10 pounds? Where? Doesn’t look like you need to.

Yeah, I bagged the box squats too cause it didn’t seem like I was getting much out of them. I think they’re very helpful for those who have a hard time with depth, but that’s not me.

At the risk of sounding like the snob that everyone accuses me of being, I notice that it almost looks like a little thigh supporting on your DLs. USAPL calls that all the time (supporting the bar with the thighs or “hitching”). Not sure how to overcome that other than focusing on shooting the hips forward to lock it out.

I carry a very high percentage of my bodyfat in the low ab area so 10lbs can look pretty bad on me where it wouldn’t on someone else.

No you are right about the thigh thing. I notice it more on rack pulls than DLs for some reason but it is something I need to work through. I also think it happens more often as I get tired. This is the stuff I need to pay attention to if I’m going to ever compete.

maybe someone else can pipe up on this but isn’t 10lbs in 30 days a little quick? Just wonderin.

That four weeks really should have been around six weeks. I tend to respond best to brutal short term calorie drops than long term “cuts”

Wave 2-Cycle 2-Week 3-Day 2

3x335
3x375
3x335

Standing EZ Curls

Standing Alt. Curls

I could not get my head staight today and it showed, again, on the money set. i know I should have gotten at least two mroe reps but for some reason it just wasn’t there. Really disappointed in todays session.
