Can anyone tell me the differences in usage of the triceps muscle in the bench press vs. military press. Which exercise works it more, and in what ways? It seems to me that the extension of the arm is the same distance in each exercise, just at different angles. How does this affect the triceps’ role?

Well the bench has more weight so is probably a better mass builder.

In the benchpress the tri is at a different angle; and is co-dependent on the shoulders as well as the chest.
In the military press it (to me) seems to extend further.
