for maximum results, is it good to have a protein shake before and after working out? or is it better to just have one afterwards?
i see a lot of guys drinking muscle milk or whatever right in the beginning of their workout.

These were originally written with the post-workout period in mind, but since many people have begun to apply the same principles to immediately prior to and during their workouts.
Personally,
I would use the following:
Pre- 1 scoop waxy maize
1 sccop anatrop (BCAA/Creatine blend)
20 G of protein (Whey protein isolate/Hydroslate)
During - Same
After - Same plus added scoop of waxy maize
followed by a solid meal of carbs and protein.
i just do a half serving of Surge before with aminos…then the other half during and then a full serving after with aminos…check out the double dose Surge challenge article …great one
so, I am using ON Gold standard natural whey. I will try to add some before my workouts. Also, since there are already 5 grams of aminos in the powder, do i need to take extra? If so, what kind would be best?

Yeah. I don’t take 20g of wpi peri-workout though.
