Powerlifting Belts and Wraps

I’m Just starting out in powerlifting and ive been looking to buy some wraps and a decent belt. Ive been looking around the internet and the general consensus seems to be a 13 mil 1 prong inzer belt and iron wraps z or the apt convicts.

current lifts arent that good but im hoping to get 500lbs in each by the end of the year and 600 in deadlift
200kg dead for 3 reps
75kg squat for 5
110kg bench for 2

any general advice about what things i should look out for and how to properly compete and such and some help with a decent training program would be good aswell like what has worked for you and such.
I currently train at The Works Gym in High Barnet UK

I’d go for a 10mm belt, very few NEED 13mm and a lot find it too uncomfortable.

I don’t want to rain on your parade but your target of adding more than 100lb to your DL might be optomistic.
BTW Did you mean 175kg squat for 5?

Check out elite’s belts. I have a double-prong retro and love it. http://elitefts.com

And I would go with the APT’s over the Inzers, as well.

Wait, you’re planning on going from a 200x5 squat and a 245x2 bench to over 500 lbs. on both in one year?

Did I read that right?

wow, I guess I didn’t read the whole thing. He could totally get like 250lbs carryover from the belt and wraps, brah!

lol

Squatting 75kg, there is NO way you need a 13mm belt and convict wraps. They’re WAY too mcuh for ya.

Hell I’m only thinking about trying my convicts again now and I’ve done 225x3 in wraps.

The inzer true black knee wraps and economy powerbelt are PERFECT.

are 13 mil belts for heavier weights?
like squatting 6 - 700 pounds heavy?

btw i might have to reconsider those goals ramo now that i look at them they do seem a bit far featched

13mm for breaking your ribs!!

I’ve squatted 600, the Inzer Econo Belt felt stronger than needed. Will in all likelihood squat 700+ this year, and I still don’t see the need for a 13mm (I have both btw, I only use the 13mm to hold my bench shirt in place cos it’s a lever)

if anyone in the uk could tell me somewhere that supplies inzer belts id be grateful
somewhere in or around london if it possible

If they’ll ship there.

They dont sell inzer belts but they are a decent (but a bit pricey) company to deal with. They are pretty good on returns too (say if you get the wrong size). Check em out.

I have an EFS 13mm double prong. I’ve had it 2 years and it’s just now getting broken in.

Food for thought.
