A guy in the locker room said he was impressed with my lifts. I told him I wished it was videoed because it felt slow. He said it a little slow till I got to the knees, then it was fast. The RDL’s payed off.
Great job deadlifting! I usually video my heavy sets and it usually goes up faster than it feels. You probably looked good. ![]()

Did not realize how stiff I was until things started loosening up. Lower back feeling better but not 100%.
Squat
Bar x 8

365 x 1 absolutely flew up. Damn, it didn’t feel like much wieght on the bar. I resisted the temptation to to more reps. I need to be smart or less stupid.

Two years ago today was my last cancer treatment. The doctor said two years is a significant milestone for a reduced chance of the cancer coming back.
Nice squats. That is some strong sets there. Even better they felt light!
Congrats on 2 years cancer free!!
Happy 2 year anniversary.
@shaneinga @biker
Thank you Gentlemen.
Great job on those squats! Stopping while you’re ahead is not a bad idea IMO. Looking forward to seeing that number continue to climb.
Also, congratulations on being cancer free for two years! Looking forward to seeing that number contine to climb as well! ![]()
Great job on using your head. Congrats on your wonderful recovery.
@TM79 ,@Crippler56
Thank you both. It’s hard to know where to draw the line between training hard enough for progress and avoiding making an injury worse.

Went to a DL platform opposite of someone who doesn’t have enough respect for the equipment or others in the gym to put even one bumper plate on the bar. He walked past the rack of bumper plates to get iron plates. Even with two plates he was dropping the bar from his knees. I didn’t have a plan on how high I was going to work up to, it was just going higher than whatever this guy was going to lift. I was listening to loud music thru my over ear noise canceling headphones and literally jumped after he dropped the bar on his heaviest rep of 365. I worked up to.
455 x 6 singles ( I went very slow on the decent and gently set the bar down on each rep, because he was watching)

Once more I’ll contend that gym manners have been lost. I had a similar situation last week with a knucklehead dropping the bar from his knees at the end of every set. My coaches would have kicked my ass.
They see it on social and think it’s cool. Didn’t bother to realize the people doing it on the gram are using bumpers.
It’s that time of year. No matter how many times we prepare for it, January always brings in more morons.
Nice deads btw. I would be happy pulling that for a single right now. Damn strong rowing as well!
Thanks. I didn’t know it was a social media thing, makes me wonder what’s next.
Most the goofy crap I see in the gym definitely comes from Instagram.
The nearly useless hip-thrust for example.

I was squatting off a bench. After the last rep I found a drop of fresh blood close to where I set my phone. I checked myself over and couldn’t figure out where that blood came from. Weird.

Back felt better as squats got heavier.
Squatting so heavy you made the bar bleed. Congrats.
That was good.
