Excellent work going on in here. Working up to some mind blowing numbers, at least for me. Glad you were able to find a silver lining in the colonoscopy. I seem to recall losing 5 pounds last time I had one. Should probably schedule another soon. :joy:

Moving some really strong weights in here. Great work!

Thank you, it feels good to lift heavier.

Thanks. If you are due, go for it. I was tempted to cancel this one. I already used my free one and couldn’t get in before the end of last year when I met my max out of pocket. Then I thought I would feel pretty stupid If I died or even had to go through treatments again because I went cheap. A couple of the polyps were precancerous.

I know I need to do something different for the bench. I thought I would try the bench equivalent of the Dan John DL challenge of 60 reps in 30 minutes. I’ve never done it before and don’t know how much weight to use.
Bench
185 x 3
225 x 1
245 x 1
265 x 1
285 x 1post chemo pr. Went up fast
205 x 95 in 30 minutes
MP
135 x 5 x 3
Pec dec
230 x 0
190 x 0

Wonder if something like 68% would be a good place to start. Seems like something plausible to pull off for 2 reps EMOM for 30 mins. but if it’s way too easy you at least know better how much to go up next time.

I have never tried it either but you got me thinking about how to approach it.

In his original article he recommends 315 for the deadlift. I worked up to 345 in the past and 335 recently.
It is a fun challenge. The higher percentage might work for the bench. The 345 would have been 59% for me at the time.

Probably best to start low and just work your way into…but also more fun just to dive and see if you can swim sometimes too.

I used to be part of the “wait outside the doors before they unlock them crowd”, LOL. I really wanted to be able to get my favorite squat rack…

Wasn’t super pleasant in Canadian winter though, made me question my entire life up until that point, LOL.

Our gym manager opens after 4:30 am when the first guy drives into parking lot. He get there regularly at 2 am weekdays. Officially opens at 5 am.

You have to admit that there is something appealing about training that early.

Makes me wonder how early some people go to sleep.
