You’re going to FIGHT. You’re gonna step in the ring, unarmed, with another guy that wants to beat the living fuck out of you, and if he puts you to sleep, it’s probably going to be one of the crowning moments of his life.
What sucks more: losing muscle, or getting knocked unconscious?

Exactly!
You have to realize that intense fight training + all the other training to optimize your fighting performance is going to shape your body to perform at your choosen sport.SAID principle.
So in the end,you want to be performing at your OPTIMAL fighting weight.
Roy Joes Jr. was the best boxing at 165 lb. while Mike Tyson was destroyer at 220 lb. at about the same height (5-11 ft.).
So you just have to train hard, eat well and see at what weight you ll end up.
first month i stopped lifting weights but now im back to doing heavy weight lifting twice a week and im back on all my supps and doing muay thai 4 days a week seems like its working out well for me so far making strength gains and my conditioning is improving
interesting thread, i’ll be sure to follow it, as the moment i’m not being able to train on mma due to my nail injury, but i hope to get back on the bandwagon soon and make my pro debut on june or july

you cant be anymore direct than that.
If a bodybuilder were to train seriously in striking, he would UNDOUBTEDLY lose muscle mass. Your body will adapt, as with any specific training, and it will begin to shed muscle that is useless pertaining to your training.
But you’re not a bodybuilder @6foot and 190lbs.
Think about it. Would you rather get hit by ronnie coleman, or mike tyson? Ronnie weighs 300lbs, tyson only 220 - 230 in his days. To be honest, i’ll say jose aldo would punch harder than ronnie ever could.
If your goal is to gain mass on your frame, stick to the weights. And if your goal is to not get KTFO, learn how to fight.
